Who would you like to step up &...
Commit to supplying engines for Cart/irl next? Honda seems to be gone for at least the immediate future. Ford's plans are what? So it's just Chevy vs MG and maybe Toyota?

Have Chevy committed? It is anticipated that Honda will be back in 2004 - no certainty though. We could be looking at the possibility of 5 engine suppliers! B&S seem to be happy in karts - maybe it's time that they stepped up to the big league!!! |

Illmor has stated that they will build engines for both CART and the IRL. The CART engines may not even have a manufacturers badge, but Chrystler has been suggested fot the IRL version (which requires a manufacturers badge under the rules)

Audi. With all their success in the ALMS, why not take a crack at another American series.

Pook has said that they are talking to 2 or 3 other maufacturers. I'd love to see them all in. The more the merrier.

Uhm... Kia! Skoda? I honestly don't care that much who builds CART's engines, it's a driver's series.
If Ilmor are really commited to building engines, it probably wouldn't be too hard to get Mercedes backing the CART engine and Dodge or Chrysler the IRL version. It's a bad move IMO, though... Their 2002 F1 engine is ****, they should focus their efforts! |

Skoda suits me. SEAT? They are, er, a bit sloooooooow.
Actually I thought this thread was going to be about something else and my answer was going to be "Michael Andretti." P.S. to Jordi, I'm a Sainz fan too, although Harri is the current Love of My Grid. Oops, that's Colin McRae isn't it? Last edited by Liz; 2 May 2002 at 23:22. |

Honda may be back? I can't imagine that to be anytime soon. Judging from their struggles in F1, the only time when they will come back is when they either:
1) Quit F1 2) Start winning in F1. Speaking of Kia, how about Hyundai??? |

McRae or McCrash? Everytime Sainz DNF's with mechanical, McRae leads and tumbles...
But back to the topic, I'd like to see Audi. They seem serious. Honda is just sucking in F1, they'll be down to probably BAR next year, but they just can't win with BAR.. So if they wait to come back when they win in F1... |
