Had Swede Savage survived the dark era of Indy Car racing I think we would be speaking his name along side of Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney. He came up racing in the time when drivers raced in all manner of machinery and could contend against anyone. I know that the surviving drivers of that time all considered him a top talent.
