Can you get that in Montreal Dan? If Beverley Turner is doing it you may get a 20min tour of the shops of the local city and 5mins racing!!

Dan...from what we've seen so far this season we are not going to miss much at all As for the content, the ITV guys spend most of their time in the Porsche Media tent getting a free lunch..along with everyone else on a Friday.

But can you blame them? Porsche Hospitality food is one of the best in the motorsport world...I'd say only Renault ranked higher.

Who can blame the itv crews for sampling the delightful gourmet food supplied by Porsche? I can just picture 'AVARICE' now peering jealously into the tent with his half-chewed croissant in his hand pinched from his 2 star hotel breakfast table that very morning!
(If he even makes it to the events) Anyway, I always assumed media hospitality was for media anyway and Porsche do get a good showing in the itv programme! Also - Watch the programme before you slag it off!! It's Formula 3000 on National Telly reaching 1 million people for **** sake!!!!! |

Welcome aboard Ten-Tenths Minor racer.
Would there be any hints of a long time friendship between you and AVARICE ? |

That was more than a month ago! I think Eurosport showing the races one day later is on the limit of what's acceptable, though it of course beats not seeing the races at all. Have to stay away from all motorsport news sites, as well as this forum, from race start to after I've watched it though.

There's nowt like a bit of friendly banter Dan!
I'll get 'AVARICE' a drink any time (the beers great in Porsche hospitality and very cheap) By the way, surely 'AVARICE' means 'a wanting of wealth/greed/jealousy'?!! - or is it what you order in a Chinese restaurant? |

Hey, at least they show it.
For someone who doesn't have satellite/cable/digital F3000 on ITV is the only motorsport (barring F1 - with the exception of Fri Qualifying) I get to watch at a normal hour. All the rest is shown in the middle of the night!!! It's dead weird though when you go to the races and you haven't seen the ones before!!! Only read about them. |

Minor Racer: So you want to buy me a beer in the Porsche tent? That's typical - You offer to put your hand in your pocket and its at a place where the beer is free!!! How about we meet after the F1 race on a Sunday and you buy me a beer then? Oh..hang on. Your pass is only valid till Saturday isn't it? Never mind. Another time perhaps.
As for peering in with a jealous look - wrong! I will always be there on a Friday for the lunch and prize draw. I usually pass the ITV guys on my way in as they wait nervouly for the tent to fill before asking for a wrist band! And as for it being the best, I would say that Ferrari has the best lunches. But then if you take a look at the back of your F3000 pass you will see that it states: NO ACCESS TO FORMULA ONE AREAS, so I guess that you would never know, would you? Your move? |

ITV have always done a good job with their F3000 coverage, the only problem being the ludicrous time lapse before each race is shown. Thankfully this new programme is much like the old coverage, with no sign of any "lifestyle features"....

Ooooh....touchy!
Amazing as it may sound, the guys from ITV who cover Formula 3000 have actualy CHOSEN to cover the category. As you must know, Avarice, the teams are friendly, the drivers are not prima donnas and it's great to get a quiet flight home before the chaos starts on Sunday. Knowing what the other TV guys go through in F1, give me F3000 anyday! By the way the ITV guys get INVITED into Porsche hospitality in return for the coverage they give them. Oh and the free beer thing was meant to be a joke. |

F3 and GT are shown at 7am in the morning. The most recent episode of GT on 4 is to be shown in the middle of the night on Thursday. I'm a student - 7am is an unearthly hour! WRC is slowly being moved to midnight and later every night. Correct me if I'm wrong. Would love to see it during the day, like it was when they started it! I apologise for missing Superbikes too - but I'm a car person. Yes, bikes doesn't have too bad a go at it" |
