TheNewBob should be qualifying in the top 5 on the gridTheNewBob should be qualifying in the top 5 on the grid
750 Motor Club, Cadwell Park

I'm gonna be attending this - anyone else? My main reason of asking is it's my first visit to me local circuit for about 4 years, and I've rated the 750 MC pretty highly in the past - anyone got an idea of the races going to be run there later this month?

Hi TheNewBob - full details on which categories are running here:

http://www.750mc.co.uk/Racing/finals...ure%20List.pdf

A timetable will be posted on the 750MC site sometime during the middle of next week. Expect about ten races on Saturday afternoon and 14 from mid-morning on Sunday if it is anything like the last two Cadwell 750MC meetings.

Look forward to talking to you there.

looks like a pretty good meeting - shame about lack of locost (I quite like those!), and the 750MC website doesn't have info on the "SR & GT" which is listed on the .pdf but isn't attending Cadwell - anyone know any info on that?

I'm probably attending with "the old grey one" but if I get an opportunity then yeah look forward to saying 'ello, Ian - and by the way, the name's Martyn - see my signature for something of an attempt at an explanation of the username!

Well, I'll be saying 'ello to you over the PA because I am commentating

SR & GT is the Sports Racing and GT Challenge that is administered by the 750 Motor Club (link: www.srgtc.org.uk - although it seems to be down at the moment).

(And by the way, I have sigs turned off so I couldn't see the explanation!)

Aaah sorry didn't know u were a commentator haha!! I thought u were gonna be a mere spectator like me lol. I found out in the end what the SR GT was - shame that's not going to be there, looks fantastic.

A goal of mine is to compete sometime when I get the available money - tried karting but it's too competitive an environment (everyone wants to be an F1 driver there - I certainly don't!!). The 750MC could be just the ticket - the car is the initial expense, after that it looks a lot cheaper than I thought! Anyone else recommend it? Won't be for a while yet (unless anyone fancies giving me a free car lol), however.

Why not talk to some of the drivers when you go to Cadwell? They could certainly give you some useful advice.

Will do when I get closer to being able to compete. It's not for a while yet so I'll have a much closer inspection of the paddock at the next meeting I attend there (whenever that will be!), when it'll be closer to the time (an example reason being that situations, rules and costs may change over time). Thanks for the help none the less

Definitely talk to the drivers at Cadwell. Not only can they tell you what you need to do to start racing with 750MC but can point you to any "hire" cars that may be the best "taster".

How are the entries for F4 looking ? Hoping for a good weekend this time after managing to put the car into the pit wall at Silverstone the other week.

heyup TNB iv had my cheapest season so far this year up to now. bought an old rover 216gti from the one make series and joined the Toyo series. You get a free set of tyres and theres a 1600 class. iv even got a couple of trophies! also done LMA Eurosaloons and Tintops races. Only expense in 2 trackdays and 6 races has been a set of front pads. and a driveshaft, but someone gave me the car it came off!!

Nice one! Something I'd love to do but I am in the process of changing jobs and money is never something I've had in plentiful supply. I don't want to tease myself into doing something I can't afford yet so won't start looking at it until I get myself all sorted.

Looks like my visit could be out of the window! Having to work Saturday night so I won't get home until 7am Sunday - meaning by the time I've had some rest they'll be half way through the meeting! I'd go tomorrow but I'm working tonight too

I've just got back from the circuit - I decided to pop along today even though I'd had no sleep! However, I managed to see the morning practice and all the races up until the lunchbreak, after which I simply didn't feel well enough to stay. I did get some pictures and a video, I'll plonk them online somewhere for peeps' viewing pleasure.

I didn't go in the end, I wanted to but after hardly any sleep Friday night, and Snetterton all day yesterday, I couldn't face getting up at 6 and driving for 3 hours, so I just stayed in bed

This was a very full meeting (I venture to suggest just a tad too many races) and the quality of the races was variable to say the least. Poor old Ian was commentating all on his own as well as running up and down the stairs from the commentary box to interview race winners. He looked completely 'shattered' by Sunday evening and deserves a medal for his efforts.

Well done to the marshals for keeping the event going as quickly as possible in the light of a number of red flag incidents during both days. I enjoyed your traffic queue at the Clubhouse during the lunchbreak, by the way!

Thank you John. I did feel rather shattered too, but it really kicked in last night as I stayed up to watch the repeat of the A1GP race at about 11.30pm on Sunday evening!

Yes, the quality of the racing was very variable. Obviously in a couple of races a smaller than anticipated entry did not help (I have the 7s again at Snetterton in a couple of weeks - I will have to prepare!). On the other hand, we did see some quite interesting races, in particular F4 and Bikesports provided solid entertainment.

It is interesting that two classes that had raced at Brands Hatch two weeks earlier (Stock Hatch and Vee) provided relatively muted racing this time - a function, I think, of Cadwell's layout and width. Of course, it could always be just because I could only see a small part of the circuit at Cadwell as opposed to all of it on the Indy circuit.
