British Grand Prix 2016: Grand Prix Weekend Thread
The country that is home to the majority of Formula 1 teams hosts one of this weekend's Grand Prix. For so many teams and drivers, the UK is where they are based and it has a huge motorsport history. Silverstone hosted the very first Formula 1 race in 1950. Since then its flowing, quick corners make it a favourte for many.
The proper previews will be back from the next Grand Prix. I've been too busy at work these last few weeks to do them; I'm sorry about that. |

They changed the kerbs to black and white. Very old school.

Policing track limits is a joke.
Cancel them all or don't do it at all. Last edited by sizzle; 9 Jul 2016 at 12:57. |

Fair enough BR, look forward to the next one.
Hamilton just had the time on his first run in Q3 disallowed, for exceeding the track limit at Copse. Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 9 Jul 2016 at 13:02. |

EJ was just talking to Lauda about Lewis having his time disallowed and I thought I heard Lauda say something about Charlie Whiting, allowing the track to be exceeded on some corners, not others?

It just seems so arbitrary, Palmer leaves briefly once and is penalised, magnussen does it three times and is fine? And don't get me started on verstappen and raikkonen

Maybe they should introduce Austrian-style 'killer kerbs'.....

Zero tolerance on track limits? It was a joke. I wonder in anyone actually respected the agreed upon limits and it impacted their time (and qualifying position) while others exceeded and gained with no penalty?

That would help but what about the interim? There's still the rest of the season to go.

SC start because it rained. It's stopped but there's a puddle so SC start.

BS- starting the race behind a pace car. Might as well throw a mandatory caution after 20 laps so they can safely change tires and be properly burped.

Why don't they just write it into the rules now that if it's a bit wet it's an automatic safety car start? Ridiculous really. What do we think? 12 laps before it goes green?

Whenever it's dry enough to put slicks on. Wouldn't want the best drivers in the world to deal with some puddles.
