Carl Fogarty has officially announced his retirement. After his recent test session when he couldn't get comfortable on the bike, he has decided not to continue as he would not be competitive mainly due to lack of fitness, mobility, etc from his injuries sustained earlier in the year.

It is a shame to see him go, but it is better than if he tried to return and did badly.

It is also strange that the best riders of both 500cc and Superbikes have left their respective categories in similar fashion.

There is no doubt about it that Foggy was a great rider he will be missed.
I hope that the way he had to retire is not gone be a trend!

His retirement brings a other question to mind, who's gone ride that second Ducati?
I wonder if there are any regrets now at Ducati about letting Troy Corser go.

There is only one King, and his initials are KR.

I will miss Carl also. I would have love to see him and Haga go head-to-head.

Redneck, is SBKing Carl alright?

Supposedly Tardozzi wants Corser back on a Ducati. Not sure if it will happen though as the Aprilia is getting better and better.

Next season will be good though, even without Carl. But before anyone goes into predictions of that, there is still one round (and an appeal hearing) to go.

corser should tell tardozzi to gf, plus i'am happy with the aussies on different bikes : hopefully in 2001 - bayliss (ducati), corser (aprilia) and gobert (yamaha ?), throw mladin on a suzuki and wsbk would be rocking even more....
