Number of stripes on the Lack of adhesion Flag

Good morning all, I am looking to see if there is a difinitive official layout for the Red/Yellow Striped flag as every diagram i have seen is different from more red stripes to more yellow stripes and even numbers of stripes.
In the FIA Appendix (H) it calls the flag "Yellow and Red striped" which to me indicates more yellow stripes than red ones.

anyone with a thought or some one who knows the answer as i have seen every variation in my travels.

There should be three of each I think.
Unless you're at Donington where this flag then had 150 small red stripes!!!

PS, I think it's more of a "Change Of Surface" flag than lack of adhesion.

The pocket Guide (red) describes it as "Red and Yellow Striped flag" calling it a "slippery surface flag"
The blue book calls it "Yellow flag with red stripes - Stationary: Slippery surface ahead." This, to me, suggests at least 3 yellow stripes and at least 2 red stripes and it is always stationary.
That should start some discussion!!

It's two black stripes with tarmac inbetween, tarmac changing to green with armco borders and pork pie fleur-de-leis.

I don't think there is a definitive answer. My flag has two red stripes on a yellow background, making three yellow and two red. People sometimes say my stripes go the wrong way, so does anyone know whether they should be vertical or horizontal?

Thanks guys

Thanks for the comments, I am making 12 sets for a circuit and just wanted to try and get them as close to correct as poss, so will probably go with 4 vertical yellow and 3 vertical red stripes 800 * 600 and that should work.

Cheers

Hang on a 'mo!

We still need to determine just how wide these stripes need to be!

Blue book states minimum size of flags as 30 inches by 24 inches (I think that's 762X609.6) except Red flag which international regs require to be 800X1000. This does not include starters flag (presumably they mean national flag)

I'm sorry if all this talk of measurements size upsets old Balders but I can understand him being sensitive to size.

Yep here we are working 800*600 and 800*1000 for the Red, National & Chequered.
Just thought it is a interesting to see what others use given the level of regulation we operate under.

Take white flag, put it on a stick then colour in two squares in pencil.

Hung, drawn and quartered. All part of our chequered history.

I really hadn't realized I was that bored today!

Heard from a driver who rear-ended a Porsche on the grid at Brands this year:-

"I saw the yellow flags waving (down the length of the grid), but didn't know what they were for, so I put my foot down anyway!"

This driver started at the back of the grid, and rear-ended the Porsche on row 3.
