Group C cars URL

I have found one of the best URL´s with pics about Group C cars, the URL is: http://xplemierre.chez.tiscali.fr/ac...ueil_auto.html

The people with nostalgia also can find any pic of Le Mans 1966

Its unbelievable the emotions that racing can generate on each one of us.

Looking at the 1989 pictures i couldnt avoid feeling nostalgic and emotioned. That was the year when i decided (i was 18, to start pursuing what was supposed to be my racing career. I lived very intenselly that year ... i even bought a perfum KOUROS - sponsor of car nº 62 in Le Mans !!!

Good old days ... Thanks E46 for this link.

For Grp C lovers, there are some very nice pictures on this site.

Those Kouros Saubers were good looking cars, weren't they? (They were Saubers in those days, as I recall - the ACO even recorded the win in '89 as a Sauber win and not a Mercedes win).

Absolutely right, those were still the days when Merc didn't officially want to know anything about racing, and was all hush-hush about their preparations for their comeback (with the Gp.C car and the 190E 2.3.-16 Gp.A tourer), and when Norbert Haug was still a journalist.

Wonderful cars indeed. My favourite painting is the Mazda one... but I'm noticing how the shapes of the cars are similar... or is it the fact that there's so much Porsches ?

There, that should deal with all those who keep complaining about "they all look like Audis". Back then, they all looked like Porsches!

To me they all looked like ... GORGEUS racing cars !!!

Sportscars in the 80's and Formula 1 in the 60's are my dream racing scenarios.

I prefer the 70's sportscar....

Group C were fantastic, too. I have to confess my passion for motorsport began because Sportscars races in the 80's.... Peugeot/Toyota/Nissan/Sauber-Mercedes/Porsche/Aston Martin/Mazda/Jaguar/Lancia....

You never URD such a name? It was an unsuccesful F3000 car with a BMW straight 6 that was coverted to C2 spec for German Supercup races in 1988/89 - thats probably why!

URD was Ernst Ungers equipe who also ran BMW straight 6 machines with an great deal more success.
