Hells Bells

What a splendid surprise it is to see Derek & Justin Bell sharing a car. Looks like the Derhaag Vette is a solid proposition, they might have a shot at the overall win.

Seeing the result in 2002 of Rocketsport Jaguar and with less skill this year is very possible. Maybe other surprise like in 2000 with Oreca??? I would bet it.

According to a quick summary of all the times clocked so far, they are the 2nd quickest car overall. We don't know how hard everyone has been trying, though.
Derek Bell hasn't driven the car yet - he has never driven such a car at all (and you'd think he has driven just about anything!); but I am sure he'll come to grips with it.

As I was saying *ahem* , a TransAm/AGT style Derhaag Corvette in GTS, together with Simon Gregg who we talked about not so long ago.

Are you asking what car or where, Liz?

They've got their Trans Am 'vette down at DIS prepping for the 'round-the-clock race they hold there (name escapes me but it used to be a big deal ).

Looks like they took the baby blue off, and are back to the full orange livery they ran in 2001.

Yeah, the car looks great. Could see a Corvette win (again) this year.

Are there any other GTS or Trans-Am cars with a shot? That Mosler certainly has a strong driving line-up and already has been proven over 24hrs at Bathurst.

The Sky Blue Mustang seems to be on the pace as well; the Mosler is there or thereabouts; we haven't really seen anything from the Saleen yet so that's hard to judge. And of course, Martin Short hasn't got involved yet!

So Martin Short is bringing over his Mosler(s)? Awesome!

Any other entrants who didn't show up at the test days? Any Saleens from across the pond? Any other Trans-Am teams?

Indeed.
He'll bring his Bathurst car over, and run it in GTS with bigger restrictors (and the spec. GrandAm rear wing). So, not an all-out GTS like the Perspective car is. But will that make a difference?? Nah!

Thanks Paul, that's what I was wondering, what race were they doing together.
