Festival looking good
As far as I understand it there are ALREADY 20 entries for the Zetec Festival, compared to 6 this time last year.
5 JLR cars, 2 jamun, 2 from us Geva, 2 from Benelux team Vuik Racing are among the early entries after some calculations we should get something like 40 cars and Mackmot would agree with me that that is a great thing to have. |

Great news that Zetec ought to be (relatively) strong. Hopefully we'll get as many Kent cars

3 from us
It is looking good. We had a lot of trouble with testing though because they only had 30 spaces available. Luckily they have now made 2 Zetec sessions so plenty more are welcome. |

I checked today and the entry had already reached 25, without a lot of british runners as well. have a good feeling about this. I also like the fact that we are back in the paddock, gives you at least the feel of the old festival.

That's what I thought - I just got the impression from the other thread that there were going to be bugger all entries!

The timetable hasn't changed yet, although there has been some suggestion that they might.

Still, I'd rather have FF with a depleted entry than lose it altogether because IMHO there is still no formula in the world that provides a better training ground for a young driver. |

oh boy here we go. Guys, it's time to face facts. There isn't a single motorsport event out there that is what it used to be. That's simply life. Things change.
I remember the first festival we went over for - all our Irish compatriots were giving it the "ah it's not what it used to be" to which my response was "well it's better than the Formula Ford Festival we have (i.e. NONE)" I accept that it's not what it used to be - but it's still a lot of fun, the atmosphere is great and it still generates a lot of excitement. I've learned to take events for what they are, not what they used to be - otherwise all you'll do is disappoint yourself. I'm looking forward to this year as much as I have all the previous ones we've been to and I know I'm going to enjoy the racing, the atmosphere and have an all out good time. |

There have been many times this year when people have commented to me with derison on the lack of entries the UKFF Championship but regardless of how few of them there have been, the racing has been pretty darned good most of the time and quality is better than quantity any day. |

We feel the same way about the category and have tried to move heaven and earth to get Dutch gridnumbers up and its working but our organisation is quite different. My father and I do the work for free and every penny we make goes into the championship. We are now looking at a 20 car base entry for next year and that IS possible, especially since Renault has failed in Holland.
My only concern is that the British championship may not be able to pull itself free from its difficult position. We needed an enourmous amount of help and got it, not sure if Racingline will. in any case the festival should be fantastic, as ever |
