Ok, so BMW/Schnitzer officially announced thier two car line up(most of which had been pieced together by rumors). JJ Lehto/Jorg Muller, and Dirk Muller/Fredrik Ekblom.
Ok, so here are my questions. Is Schnitzer a full blwon works team? Is Milner/Prototype Technology still going to run, and, if so, as a privateer, or works team?(A Speedvision story suggests they will run since they are getting two of the new v8 cars). And, what would be the lineup of the Milner team. Boris Said will be running the full t/a schedule in a Panoz, and there would be some conflicts. Will Bill Auberlen be returning to an M3 as he did at Adelaide. What about Hans Stuck, Peter and Brian Cunningham, Nic Jönsson, and Johannes van Overbeek? |

The Milner Team will not be a works team, though Schnitzer and PTG will be sharing information in order to help the BMW's. For instance, Schnitzer has already let PTG in on some of the information gained from wind tunnel testing. PTG might be able to let Schnitzer in on some engine secrets, though not as much so as they would if still running the in-line 6 cylinders...PTG is darn good at building engines! I don't think BMW will be backing PTG with money, just info. As far as Boris goes, I haven't looked at the exact schedule, but last year, MANY of the ALMS races were supported by Trans-Am races, which makes sense considering Panoz owns both series. If the schedule remains similiar to last year, the conflicts should be minimal should Boris continue to run with PTG. |

Thanks for the info
With Boris, there'd be two conflicts: Aug 18: T/A at Roadd America/ Aug 19: ALMS at Mosport Oct 6: T/A at Houston/ Oct 6: Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta Last year Boris did compete in a number of t/a events late in the season, but it amounted to a lot of one-offs. This year it seems he's very interested in campaigning the entire series and going for the title. So at the most he'd be a partial driver for PTG. I'm sure they'd love to have Boris driving, but with only 2 cars(speculation), they might want to have their full time drivers get more seat time? If it was only Milner running M3s I'd say Boris would probably be around for the longer endurance races in a third extra car, but the Schnitzer running two cars as well, there probably won't be as great incentive/need for Milner to run more than 2 cars at some events |
