BTCC engine costs
Just wondered, as (from what I gather) WSR have funded the development of a BMW turbo unit with Neil Brown, if say another team wanted to enter a BMW and build a full NGTC car, would they be able to use that same WSR developed unit? Would they have to do a deal with Neil Brown or WSR, or both? I guess the question is that once an engine is available as such, who benefits from the expanded use of that block?
Cheers, Ben. |

Depends on the agreement between WSR and Brown.

They'd probably come to some arrangement if it benefitted both of them. Look at the 3 teams all using the same Lehmann 2.0 TFSi engine in the Golf, Audi and Leon last year. The more teams that use them, the cheaper they become and it probably helps with future development too.
