Third crushing win for MS in the season.

Sato has ended in third position in this GP. Now he has overtaken Ralf and Webber and he is in 7th position.

RB has just passed JB for second, and BAR has passed Renault in teams table.

Ralf is having a serious draught of good results, four races without nothing decent. Although in Monaco he had a second time in qualif, he was penalized and thus he was possibly in another strategy, a pity.

i shouldn't make comments .. cause it's Schummy's points system . but to get 0.4 points without a Pole .. without Fastest Lap .. without points ... doesnt sound too good to me

Not a lot to comment, again the first three got good results.

Of course the most significant thing is Ralf's disqual. It has been a big blow to his score (he lost 1.1 point from pole, second position and third fastest lap). With this result RS had practically equalled JPM's score.

Button was the most positively affected: he inherited "pole" and podium.

Rubens had a good race. He was the fastest on track and (call me cynic) probably he "deserved" the win. MS was not *so* dominant as usual. I question his win on purely pace terms and his qualifying time was too low. He was in a different strategy but... this time he didn't dominate thru the weekend.

Giancarlo Fisichella was very lucky to inherit 0.1 points due to disquals.

Another point system (mine!): USA

Following moderator guideline, I add results after USA in the thread of former GPs.

This score system is:
race: 1-0.5-0.25-0.1
fastest laps: 0.5-0.25-0.1
grid: 0.25-0.1

Usually GP winner also has the best score (but not always!). A "notable" perfomance happens when a driver gets half or more of best score. A "good" perfomance is when a driver gets any amount of score.
Code:
Classification:
      USA Total
1. MS 1.4 = 13.25
2. RB 1.25 = 5.25
3. JB = 3.25
4. JT 0.1 = 2.1
5. JPM = 1.5
6. FA = 1.25
7. TS 0.4 = 0.75
8. RS = 0.5
9. GF = 0.1
10.MW      =  0.1

Teams:
Ferrari 18.5
BAR 4.1
Renault 3.4
Williams 2.0
Sauber 0.1
Jaguar 0.1

  • Second consecutive notable GP for Rubens. He is now clearly in second position.
  • Only JB is able to offer something in a regular basis against the Ferraris.
  • Sato has been the most brilliant non-Ferrari in the last three races. He has passed Ralf (who was negated of 0.75 points by DNQ in Canada) and he is now heading to FA and JPM!
  • The only drivers who done "something" (more than once) are the eight drivers from the first four teams. MW and GF got tiny scores in flukey circunstances.
  • BAR and Renault are fighting for second position. Williams is not far from Renault. The rest is nowhere.
