Motorsport/Car Enthusiast Podcasts
Over the first lockdown in 2020 I found myself getting into podcasts as a different form of entertainment. I have found they are particularly good to listen to when going to sleep or on a long drive.
Here are a selection of some of my favourites related to Motorsports/Cars: Behind The Glass - From the popular Youtube channel 'Seen through Glass' they debate the latest news in the world of Sports/Supercars, Reviews of F1 Races. A particular recent highlight was a debate about the effectiveness of Electric Cars and how 2030 might effect the car market https://castbox.fm/va/1488788 Bring back V10s - Probably my favourite current collection of episodes. Glenn Freeman, Mark Hughes, Edd Straw and occasional guests like Gary Anderson tackle any number of topics from the V10 years of F1. Topics vary from controversial (Prost's fall out with Ferrari) to the ridiculous (Lola's failed attempt in 1997) but always interesting and engaging: https://castbox.fm/va/18796 Collecting Cars Podcast with Chris Harris - Similar in subject matter to 'Seen Through Glass' but with more celebrity guests. Chris Harris talks to famous faces of the car world about their career, news and indeed their car collections: https://castbox.fm/va/2119942 Car Throttle Podcast - Another one from a youtube channel, this time one that specialises in pushing secondhand cars to their limit. This is more of a general chat about their cars and crazy situations they have found themselves in: https://castbox.fm/va/2963763 The Gary Anderson F1 Show - I have only listened to a couple of episodes of this but Gary Anderson is always a joy, if a little dry. Sadly this have stopped but were popular last season: https://castbox.fm/va/2691725 Motorsport Magazine Podcast - Another one that is perhaps a little dry for some tastes but with some interesting episodes nonetheless. This podcast has been going for a decade and recent highlights include episodes with Ferrari drivers about their experiences of racing for the prancing horse and a collection with famous Motorsport engineers: https://castbox.fm/va/18796 What are your favourites or ones that you find interesting? P.S - Other podcast services are available. I just use castbox! |

Motoring podcasts I'm subscribed to (other than ones mentioned above) are:
The Intercooler - Andrew Frankel (off of The Autocar and Motorsport magazine etc) and Dan Prosser - fairly new but professionally done, not much 'banter' which is for the better. Gareth Jones on Speed - Former children's tv star 'Gaz Top' and friends - a bit too much F1 for my liking but a good selection of contributors and views. Midweek Motorsport - from Radio Le Mans - sensible discussion of the week's motorsport news. A bit long at 2hrs a week so often don't get time to listen to it in full. Smith & Sniff - Jonny Smith (5th Gear) and Richard Porter (Sniff Petrol/Top Gear/Grand Tour/Evo/etc) - light hearted chuntering and car geekery. Dinner with Racers - infrequent, they seem to release a whole season of episodes at once a couple of times a year. American. Has some Big Names on it. |

Spinning Wheels - Guy Smith and Paul Woodford chatting with assorted motorsport guests.
On The Marbles - The Channel 4 F1 lot, basically Steve Jones chatting to David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Billy Monger, Lee McKenzie about F1 (if you don't like the C4 coverage - you won't like this either!). Some of the older episodes had Eddie Jordan and Stefano Domenicalli - the ones with Stefan were very interesting. |

Glad they’ve put those out. Certainly they should be a fun listen given the time
