Michael H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Is Autosport biased against touring cars?

Autosport is not providing enough coverage of touring car news, features and reports.
The BTCC, ETCC, STCC, DTM etc are all being neglected.

The BTCC needs more feature stories.

The ETCC deserves better round coverage, much more news stories, and certainly some feature stories on the ETCC drivers and teams.

The DTM - how is Menu going? What is wrong with Opel? What makes Abt tick?

The STCC - why is this series so good?

Autosport should do more on touring cars!

Maybe there are so few BTCC stories because not much is happening in the BTCC at the moment?

Real, real shame. But i agree about the ouny BTCC/ETCC/STCC/DTM reports. No comments like they have on F1, no features.

Autosport has good coverage of BTCC and DTM. ETCC is ok, but fields are too large for big analysis.

There used to be a magazine called Super Touring magazine. It didn't just have Super Touring though, it also had DTM, ITC and V8s. The one copy i bought (i hardly saw it in oz) was from November 1995, and it had the World Cup review, pointscores and reports from every super touring series in the world plus DTM, ITC and V8 Tourers reviews.
Top Stuff, anyone know what happened to it.

Supertouring Magazine and it's successor, Touring Car Worldwide, both went belly up. There just doesn't seem to be a large enough fanbase WILLING to PAY for a touring car magazine. You would think that a magazine that covers all the touring car series could survive, but obviously not. Perhaps one magazine could survive if ALL the touring car organizers like BMP, ATCC, DTM, ESTC, STCC would push that magazine at it's races and events!!!

Actually, the author or founder of both those magazines was--if not still is--a visitor to this website!

Autosport is quite shocking, but then Motorsport News isn't that much better. Although I agree there is a difference between the two, Motorsport News could cover a lot more BTCC.

autosport have picked up the ball on touring cars in the last few weeks.
Good news coverage of DTM rule changes
The next week there were good stories on Marcel Fassler in the DTM and Steve Soper.
But the STCC coverage is still no good!

And I'm still waiting for better ETCC coverage. When are Autosport going to do a feature story on Fabrizio Giovanardi ???????????

Hope the ETCC coverage will get better next year as it will be a much more 'mainstream' series.

If that is true and Autosport only have journos for a couple of hours on Tuesday it would, of course, explain why MN is sooo much better when it comes to covering proper racing...

I wonder if the guy who wants to go rallying could rally the ice cream van seeing as it's so underused ?

Hope the Ice Cream van doesn't turn up next week, if so it will be about as reliable as my copy of Motorsport News. Sometimes it turns up on Wednesday, usually of Thursday, and occasionally on Friday!!!
