A1 Monaco ?
A1 GP may have an entry from Monaco soon, with ex GP2 star Clivio Piccione driving, or would they be eligible to run any of the F1 and ex F1 drivers that are domicile there.

I doubt that they'll create A1 Team Monaco for the sake of one driver. A1 has always been quite flexible about the nationality of the driver; Piccione will most likely be eligible for A1 Team France.

I'm sure Clivio Piccione's family history is from Italy not France, but Clivio is a true Monegasque. I think A1 will let Monaco have a team, leading on to my point re F1 and ex F1 drivers who live in Monaco with A1being flexible about a drivers nationality they would have more top flight drivers than any team in A1 to choose from.

Whilst A1GP is reasonably flexible about drivers' nationality, I believe that the rules do require that they have some ancestory linked to the country that they are representing such as in the case of Khan for Pakistan and Rahal for Lebonon. I don't believe that simply living in the country makes one qualify, otherwise teams would be in a position to select any driver they wished, which would make a mockery of the Country v. Country idea.

New A1 GP team, A1 Korea, driver, Hiroki Yoshimoto. isn't he Japanese? or has Wikipedia got it wrong with Hiroki to be found in their Japanese racing driver section. Took part in GP2 Asia as a Japanese driver. A1 GP certainly are flexible it would seem.

Where have you heard that Korea's driver is Yoshimoto? Can you post a link?
A1GP eligibility means you don't necessarily need to be a citizen, but parent or possibly grandparent needed to have been from that country. You can't just put anyone in the car, even if they are living in that country at the current point in time. |

"a1 team monaco is no possible" .............. "no hiroki yoshimoto." Just wait for the announcements, you could be wrong on both counts. |

Drivers for A1 Team Monaco - Stéphane Ortelli? He would be the oldest man in A1 but he's not that much older than DC.
Or, more likely, Clivio Piccione. Don't know what he's up to now, but last year he did World Series Renault. |

A1 Monaco could be possible in my opinion and Piccione definitely on the ranks to drive, maybe even manage the team...
Monaco IS a country, doesn't belong to France so no problem about that |

I'd like to know what mr Rocks thinks of the spots of CZE ( where COL, DEN, EST, FIN or ESP could fit ), and between POR and RSA (Some think QAT will go there ).

Blimey, that's a good move for both Piccione and the Championship.

Herck is Romanian. I think the only legit Monagasque drivers would be Piccione, Beretta, and Ortelli.
