The STIG should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gurston Down, 17th/18th April

Who needs Abu Dahbi when you've got Gurston Down eh? First time visitor to Gurston - and indeed any "proper" hillclimb (depending on how you regard the Goodwood FoS). Done a few sprints, but never an uphill variety. Got a couple of questions, since Marshalspost seems to be down again.

1. What's the camping like? is there room for a motorhome or should I pack my tent?
2. When do the passes/finals arrive? I haven't had mine yet.
3. How long will it take to get to Salisbury from Gurston?

Thanks in advance.

1. Camping is good. Shame the GIT village doesn't operate, but you should have no problem with a motorhome. The earlier you get there the better your pitch.
2. Passes usually arrive early in the week before the meeting, so expect Tues or Weds.
3. About half an hour providing you don't hit a red Seat who's in a stupid place with your caravan. I found that adds half an hour. On the other hand, if you see one, drive the twonk off the road for me.

Have a great time. The locals are very friendly and welcoming, the course exciting and the bar usually has a decent bar on. I just wish it was closer to me because I love going there.

I can only re-itterate what Woolley said. I really enjoy Gurston and it is a lovely place to be (esp if this weather keeps up).
Enjoy xxx

BUGGER!

It looks like I'm going to at the very least miss Saturday... Anyone know roughly how long it takes to get down to Gurston from Bridgend/Cardiff/Swansea area? I may be able to make it down for Saturday Afternoon.

Why does everything happen at once?

those awfully nice people at Viamichelin.com reckon on 2 and 3/4 hours. On a Saturday afternoon, i would say 3 and a bit from Swansea.

I was going to say, it normally takes us just short of 2 hours from Cardiff.
We were going to go but unfortuantely due to the Swalec Cup Semis on the Sunday, we're not going now xxx

Havent made it to Gurston for a few years, really miss it. Try and get there Stig, its well worth the trip, really welcoming and great fun. From Swansea it was an easy 2hrs 30 via Bath. Miss my favourite, Gobby Git, must be quiet there now in top paddock !

Had a thoroughly great day up at Gurston today in the sunshine being burnt, a far cry from the rain and cold of BTCC a fortnight ago!

We had a fair few customers at Ashes today; I blame Mike's pork pie and those who said it would be a quiet afternoon...we were even collecting cars on the return run

Cheers everyone for a great day, can't wait to get back up again.

A very pleasant Sunday on Rescue at Karousel - even managed to catch the sun a bit - no mean feat when stuck behind the wheel all day.

The new paramedic had the Alan Taylor introductory tour & information guide
- he could well be our first casualty of the season ! (only joking Al)

Looking forward to the end of May for the next one.

Know what ya mean, me and the misses were on Karousel all weekend, but luckily we swapped every 2 batch to the other side. So only got a small helping of Alan......

Still the weekend was brill.....

Heres to the next meeting..
