ITV managed to miss showing Michael actually taking the championship. All we saw was a shot of the flag itself, with no sign of the Ferrari. The next shot of the Ferrari we got, he was going through turns 1 and 2.
They didn't show Jenson Button overtaking Ralf Schumacher. They didn't even show the classification at the end of the race so god knows where anyone outside the top 6 finished. We saw DC approx twice during the race and one of these was when we got a shot of the whole grid taking the start. I think the other was a pitstop. No press conference AGAIN! |

In Canada we get the ITV coverage and got all of that. If it camera shots you are complaining about then your beef is with the Japanese director and not with ITV.
ITV did however screw up by showing a picture of some sick cow halfway through the race for about 30 sec. Where did that come from? |

Maybe some of it happened during the ad breaks in the UK, it would be typical! But you are right about them missing Michael cross the line, you'd think that they show Michael coming through with the pit crew in the background, that would've been the most sensible thing to do.

I think seeing DC twice was enough, actually I think once was enough. The Japanese GP was a show down between Schumacher and Hakkinen for the World Championship. Why would we want to watch DC on a Sunday stroll fighting nobody. Schumacher and Hakkinen are the ultimate drivers of our time and to watch a dual against them beats watching DC TRYING to keep up and failing! If you want DC to be shown more, I am afraid to say he will have to improve and be up there fighting for the world championship with Schumacher and Hakkinen(and with a career of ultimate cars and no results this is highly unlikely). Did you see the press conference after the Japanese GP- Coulthards pathetic attempt in making an impact in the race gave the press conference questionner nothing to ask and which lead into a burst of laughter which has never been seen before. Yes its come to that Coulthards performances are becoming laughable not only from my point of view but also but also from the press conference questionner point of view. DC was so embarrassed with being laughed at that he went tomato red- has DC overstayed his stay in F1, perhaps after this public humilation he has.

ITV not commited to sport
ITV are just not intrested .
They decided not give the Olympics one single bit of coverage . They have now pulled out of the race to show rugby why because they weren't going to show live games from New Zealand & Australia because they would be on at 8 am. They would rather have Eamon Holmes on instead. Do us all a favour ITV and give F1 coverage to somebody else. PLEASE ! |

Actually Billy, ITV didn't 'decide' not to show any Olympics. They didn't have the rights to any.
From http://www.mediaguardian.co.uk : The BBC has hit back at ITV claims that the network did not submit a bid for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. A weekend newspaper report suggested the corporation would end up paying over the odds in a blind bidding system. A BBC spokesman insisted ITV's denial was intended "to cover up for the fact they had lost a second major sporting event", after the corporation earlier this year won back rights to the FA Cup final. This followed an ITV statement that the broadcaster had decided not to submit a bid for the 2003 rugby union tournament rights. A spokesman said: "We looked long and hard at this, but time differences between the UK and host nations [Australia and New Zealand], the structure of the competition, and a number of conditions attached to the tender, seriously limit the commercial viability of the tournament for ITV." But the BBC spokesman said it was "unlikely ITV would've won the rights anyway - they are just putting a brave face on it". He added: "It's widely acknowledged that their coverage of the last Rugby World Cup was poor." The spokesman also claimed that ITV's last FA Cup coverage had produced "record low figures" and that "audiences for ITV's Formula One coverage were declining because they only broadcast it live when it suited them". The BBC, by contrast, had just produced successful Olympic coverage, he added. It was already the leading channel for rugby union, showing live Six Nations and Heineken Cup coverage. ITV has had exclusive live rights to the last three Rugby World Cups and will have exclusive terrestrial highlights of all England's home internationals this season. I can post the latest article too, in which ITV claim to have devoted FIVE HOURS of coverage to the Japanese GP. Hahaha... |

So, ITV 'screw up' in reply to a 'screw up'. My God, they are so incompetent it's beyond useless. It's downright lunacy!
