Thanks Marcus,
Doesn't seem to be much there at the moment but I'll keep checking back until I find a decent shot. Grant |

11,000 people...wow that's pretty good. I reckon there were about 9,000 of us in the food que for the one food van that they allowed through the gate.

WOW!!! That's a huge turnout. Maybe you don't need V8 Supercars to pull a crowd?
What were the supports? Where they any good? Did the crowd enjoy the day? |

There was Nations Cup, GT Performance, GT Production, V8 BRutes, F3, Fvees, and Production Sports (i think). Good luck to them, will be interesting to see what sort of crowd they get to QR later in the year...

I was there until it started raining around 3pm Sunday and I didn't see any Formula Vees.
It was a great meeting though. The different Procar categories really put on a good show each in their own right and Wakefield is an absolutely fantastic viewing circuit. The only thing that spolied the day was the icy wind and the rain which started as I said above around 3pmish. |

The racing started pretty early in the day because the program was so packed. I stayed the night in Goulburn and we got there good and early to Wakefield Park but to our surprise we had to line up on the road waiting to get in for about 20 minutes or so and therefore missed R1 of the Utes.
R2 was pretty exciting, there were only 10 cars in the race but it was good seeing these things get sideways around the back corner. We missed R3 as we left due to the rain. But I imagine it would have been very interesting to see them on the wet track - will have to wait for the TV coverage ? As the drivers improve their race craft I'm sure this will become a great series. The track announcer said there is a rumour Wayne Wakefield might have a go at them which put a smile on a lot of the faces familiar with his work in the crowd, myself included. Wakefield Park is a great up and coming venue. Even though there were delays getting in and only 1 food van serving the 11,000 strong crowd these are teething problems which I'm sure they'll sort out and of course there freezing weather and late rain was just bad luck. |

You know it is a crime to says things about WW ...just to get my hopes up
I'm pretty close to the Graphic Skills team and WW, and I haven't heard anything as yet. BUT- Ross Palmer was out at Queensland Raceway the other weekend, and he was around the Graphic Skills garage, plus he said that there were a few utes still without drivers.... |

Well it seems Procars calculator is worse than AVESCOs. I did not see 11,000 people there. 6,000 at best I'd say and that includes the 1 and a half to 2 hour queue for food (I didn't bother).
But when you get descriptions from Winton of "I can see 4 people over there, and 3 people in that secion", you know it is a small crowd. |

Any other history buffs notice that Bowe's Mustang just happens to be painted red and wearing number 9?

Considering the weather on the Saturday, they still didn't get that many people in.
