For a bonus.

Would the car in the background be a Lola Ford ??

Second guess at circuit Mosport ??

No, I don't think it's a Chaparral, and I don't think it's even the sixties, though it may be. The rollover bar is foreign to that era.

Following car escapes me... the air inlet is too small for early Lotus 23, but it may have been modified. Otherwise it could be an Elva or something.

No, I'm out of this race.

Ray,

Time will tell, but I am now convinced it is a Chaperral. I am not 100% about the driver as it is a bw photo. Apart from Hall I cannot think of another suitable driver.

The second car is a guess, my first thoughts were a Ferrari 375, but the lines do not flow like a Ferrari should !!!

Any guess for the circuit ???

My immediate thought on circuit was Nassau, but it could be any of a number of airport circuits... and I'm not sufficiently familiar with American circuits to guess.

Can't find my small stock of SCGs, so I'm at a loss. But I still say it's not a Chaparral, even if I was wrong about the rollover hoop. Driver actually looks like Chris Amon...

Maybe it a trick question, and it is in fact, a Goodwood revival meeting picture- maybe thats how he took the pic.
As for the car, who knows?

It's no trick question, but read what I wrote with the photo. I'll help a bit. The photo was taken on June 12, 1966. The car following is a Merlyn-Ford. Have fun.

Crikey, no idea. June date means it can't be Nassau.

Sadler? Nope. When you said "things are not always the way they look", I thought of a Mirage, but it's like no Mirage I ever saw before.

Final guess. Chinook.

The bubly for TimD. The car is a Chinook built by the Fejer brothers in Ontario. The car is a space frame powered by a chevy engine. The body is fibre glas and design was copied from a plastic model put out by Revell of the Jim Hall designed Chaperall. The Chinook is about 7/8 scale of the original Chaperall. At the time the Fejer brothers built this car there tube welding was not very good and much of the frame looked like it was held together with chewing gum. However they learned and for many years produced a copy of the Lotus super 7 for the Japanese market. I think they now are also producing a reproduction of the Shelby Cobra.
The race track is Harewood Acres in southern Ontario. Georg Fejer was driving the car and won the race.
