2007 Ferrari was illegal.

And what do you think about this? Is it a fair allegation, is it significant?

Why am I not surprised? Ferrari aren't the first and won't be the last to try it on so to speak. At this distance it is not earth shaking news but the full story on the how Stepney and McLaren were done over by Ferrari would be. I would pay good money to read about that. The bit I find strange about that affair is McLaren did not squawk at the monetory figure so either they were in deeper than revealed or there was another good reason for the silence which has never seen the light of day.

I'm sure this goes on more than we know. Perhaps in several years there will be rumours that the 2011-2013 Red Bull was illegal?

Was it desperation to get back to the level of success they had when TGF was there?Odd that a team with the right of veto over the rules could make such a mistake.

The car wasn't illegal, don't be so stupid..
EVERYTHING is allowed unless you are caught, that's the whole point of Formula One, and always has been. |

It's already known that the car was illegal for the first race of 2007 season isn't it?
Wasn't the floor found to be illegal and banned before the next race? |

Interesting how many websites have claimed that Stepney said the Ferrari was illegal, it suggests very few of them bothered to do any research...
Nobody protested the red cars in Oz, the design was deemed illegal ahead of the next race - the article raises some other interesting points... |

I wrote the web-news story on RCE, in it it refers to a full interview - where there is more info...

However, I'm sure most sensible members would agree that it's best to quietly take on board the friendly advice of a moderator when it comes to forum rules rather than seeking to challenge it. What's yours? |

Ask Newey about the rear diffuser on the Brawn in '09.

Why don't you ask him?
The Brawn diffuser was legal. It was never banned during that season. But just to prove that you can get it wrong, Toyota and Williams also had double diffusers from the beginning of the 2009 season. |
