XW GT should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2006 CAMS National Series

Whilst having a couple of "frothies" with some mates the other night, somebody mentioned the new CAMS series for next year. After doing a bit of sniffing around I have been told that this series is looking to be pretty big.
Beside the documented "foundation" categories it is suggested that other categories participating in the series may include V8 Utes, Aussie Racing Cars and GT Performance. Add to this list maybe Trucks and Tranzam an bingo you have some pretty exciting race meetings. Has anybody heard anything?

Nothing much has, as yet, been officially said about it. There are whispers that two of the categories you mentioned are not, as yet, fully committed - but, again - nothing concrete.

Obviously keeping my source confidential, I can only say that he is a current racer in a category that are involved with "commercial" vehicles. The rumour is that his category may do as many as five rounds with the new series.

I'll see your source and raise you mine - word is that categories are still approaching AMRS - the AMRS are not approaching anyone - in the words of Garry Willmington (who, I believe, is due back from a well earned break tomorrow) 'they are knocking on our dorrs - we haven't had to go to anyone and don't intend to'.

AMRS = AASA. Can't really see many of the mentioned categories running AASA.

Possibly two - but as I mentioned in a previous thread - don;t read too much into the fact AMRS is being run under AASA - believe it or not CAMS are actually helping out.

I am not convinced that the Trucks and Tranzam will run in the CAMS National Series.

I think I know which series you are talking about here, it is an option depending on what tv deals can be made with another series.
