Mabs, I like most of your choices, but what is it with the Milwaukee Mile?
For me it was the low point in the IRL schedule last year - the race was dull and if it hadn't been for Dario's charge to the finish I'd have considered switching over. Maybe that was just a dull race, but to me it seemed that without substantial banking it just wasn't the kind of place for side by side racing? |

Let's see...
Some of the best IRL races over the years have been at: Texas Kansas Kentucky Chicagoland and not one of those tracks is on the list... |

My "dream" calendar was last year, when we had no road racing, and no street racing, just ovals, and nothing but ovals!
IMHO, if your an IRL fan, you should want it no other way! Great pick-up Tim, those are easily 4 of the best, must see races of the season... |

The series has to evolve, though - ten years of ovals didn't have the fans stampeding for tickets. I'd like to see fourteen or fifteen of the best ovals. Couple of street courses and a couple of road courses, making a 18-20 race season.
Wouldn't mind seeing another race here at Rockingham in the UK, either, although with the disruption that Motegi causes I could do without fly-away events all together if it meant keeping the momentum and interest steady over the course of a season. |

Because he is a fan of oval racing. Historically, that's what racing in the USA was ALL about. |

And that's what the IRL was all about to! Seeing IndyCars race on the ovals is why I watch. The high speeds, the close racing and all the passing is fantastic to see. I do really enjoy road racing also, but I don't need to see that here. There are so many series out there today that do that, and with the IRL doing only ovals we did have something very unique. Maybe infoxicated is right, and the series needs to evolve. If successful, it may push OWRS out-of-business, thereby creating one series. Two road racing events would have been enough for me though, and NASCAR has been very successful running just two for variety. I'm just afraid now that the flood gates have opened, we'll be seeing more and more road racing and street courses now, and we'll lose what made us so different. All that said, I'm probably going to Watkins Glen this year! It's the only IRL track thats reasonably close now with Nazareth gone. |

I'm waiting to see what my bonus is later this month... and if it's a big one I'm going to Infineon this year. That's a long haul from the UK for me, but the way things are going the bubble could have burst in a years time, so I want to catch the first ever road course race.
I'd hate to even see it reach one third road/street to two thirds ovals - it should be more like 75% ovals, although they can take Milwaukee if they like . |

Ha ha! Classy idea
As well as Infineon, I want to take in the Chargers pre-season game against the 49'ers too, and maybe do some skating around San Diego while I'm down there. I hit 33 in july and recently found out I have my first kid on the way in December - this is the last chance saloon for this kind of holiday, so if I do it it has to be the left coast. By the time my kid is old enough to be following motorsport I hope the IRL and CCWS are all sorted out so that he has a good, solid series to follow as he's growing up, though. |
