Funny that you'd post this right now, just stumbled across this (in French).
Looks like the Corvette and the BMW are sofar not elegible for the FIA series. |

Seems like that was homologated for NGT, at least 5 years ago.

Yes, but it would probably need a lot of waivers to make it competitive (engine swap, huge tyres, venturi tunnels, jet engine in the boot, railgun to blast cars in front out the way).
Whilst the M3 isn't on the list, my guess from the engrish is that they can use their discretion to allow other cars in. I guess if someone wanted to race it, they could probably use it. |

So who do we have confirmed for this year so far? It seems there are a lot more people heading to LMS and other series than wanting to run here.

Yes it does seem that some are not to excited about being relegated to a second tier pro-am series, when just a few years ago they were led to believe they would become 'The Show'. It would surely pi-s me off! Will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

Trackspeed, Prospeed both try to field 2 Porsche, Kessel brings 2 Ferrari, AF Corse might still return with two cars and Beechdean should enter two Aston Martin.
CRS will go to LMS, and AF Corse will also have LMS as priority (Melo-Bruni, Russo-Companc). Not sure what happens to BMS/Brixia. There's not a single driver confirmed by now. |

So what does Ratel do if the entry list is 10 cars long (and right now that sounds optimistic)? We learned about the others because it was the deadline to enter the LMS, and I guess others are also coming fast.

Why spend all the money doing GT2 when GT3 is nearly as quick and has better grids
GT3 is now quicker than GT2 from 2007 and the costs of GT3 in 2010 are now at 2007 GT2 level so it all seems to be getting out of control The Porsche 2007 997 cup car was supposed to be the Benchmark car for GT3 |

I know it's a bit off topic, but the builders of GT3 cars will always keep making better and faster cars each year, they have to, only way they can make any money! So each year the benchmark will rise. As will the costs. We saw in BGT last year that by the end of the year the 430 Scuderia was quite a lot quicker than the opposition in the right hands.

Rumors from Belgium: FIA GT2 is toast...the 24 hours of Spa will be run as an open race, modeled after the 24hours at the Ring for GT2/3/4 + National GT.
That would most probably steal a lot of teams away from the 24hours at Zolder... I don't like that at all. |

The last three or so years were indeed pretty bad, but they had 40 or so cars in 2006 and pretty much went back to the open formula of back then instead of strictly GT3 so I had some hopes for a better turnout this year.

This year, the 24 Hours Of Zolder will be an open race without being part of a championship. BELCAR en Belgian Touring Car Series should have some quite nice cars on the grid (the official Sirocco's from last year for example) so I guess it's possible to have a nice race this year!
