2016 WTCC Race of Hungary
New weekend, new WTCC round.
Race preview: https://www.fiawtcc.com/race-preview...es-in-hungary/ Track facts: https://www.fiawtcc.com/event/race-of-hungary/ Round will be available for free again on Premium TV. So, this should be the round where Citroen should dominate the qualifying. But I believe there is a big chance for other manufacturers in the Opening race, because it's almost impossible to overtake here. Though the action might not be that good Hope that Zengo will rebuild Ficza's car in time. Don't expect Nika (as usual) |

Two things sprung to mind when I saw that the Hondas would have 70kg added on and the Ladas 50kg. The first, if Citroen qualify well will they (primarily Lopez) have more of a chance to cut through the field in the reverse-grid race now that others are similarly hindered? Just a thought, though I accept the nature of the Hungaroring makes this unlikely. Secondly, could Citroen go a whole weekend with whining about having the full 80kg of ballast now that the Hondas carry only 10kg less? |

However, the fact that surprised me the most was that no other factory team scored the remaining 3 poles position (Chilton, Morbidelli and Michelisz). That makes me wonder... is it Citroën faults that the other factory teams are so poor? I really do not think they should get punished because of that. And I am talking about the first two rounds of the season running with 80 kilos extras than anyone else and having a fake championship leader right now. The system to apply compensation weight does sound more reasonable to me (even it still punishing those making the best car) but the first two rounds have been absolutely manipulated. |

Unfortunately Citroën is the only manufacturer to have committed properly to the WTCC in recent years. And they are being punished for that, but could probably be a bit more graceful about it. After all, Lopez will probably win the championship again this year, so Citroën's job will be done when they walk away at the end of 2016.

Wow, Honda and Lada have a lot of weight there. Gives the Chevys and Volvos a chance of points at least.

I think it's likely those Citroens are sandbagging, not expecting them to be so far back (in terms of time) with only 10kg more than the Hondas.
This weekend will be difficult to predict, qualifying especially, as a lot of cars are now carrying substantial extra weight. I couldn't predict a pole-sitter that's for sure. |

Honda and Monteiro are the best thing about the new season and the only thing that I have to go for a change in the world title

Well, Citroen is definitely sandbagging, but the field seems close, closer than I thought

Top 14 within 1sec is really close. Qualifying could be interesting but I expect Citroën to find some time somewhere

Coronel very impressive, with Hondas and Ladas ballasted Pechito returns to impose tough gaps.

Who thought 100€ for "Premium TV" was a good idea? That pricing is riddiculous for what you get most of the time. Good that it's free for this weekend because Eurosport isn't even showing both races live on their channels.

In France,Eurosport is accessible only on a single too expensive subscription(CanalSat). To see the WTCC,I subscribed to Eurosport Player.
With Eurosport Player(5.99 euros/month),you can see the live(without the publicity of the channel). https://twitter.com/FIA_WTCC/status/724141003947577344 |

I really don't understand the WTCC on this. They've got terrible TV coverage most of the time, wouldn't it be smarter to do what TCR and Blancpain GT are doing and offer free live streaming? |

Didn't expect to see only 1 Citroen in Q3. Honda seriously worked with the weight during the winter I guess. Looking forward to the races, should be the first full rainy weekend (counting races) for TC1 cars, expect the storm in Slovakia two years ago. Wonder which cars have advantage. bet on Citroen with their awesome traction |
