Clio's at Snetterton.........Pick a winner
My usual question!!!
Doeas anyone have any thoughts, I missed Croft so I don't know who's hot and who's not! Templeman seems to be on form, Rivett and Kirkaldy didn't score as many points as they would have like from the last outing.......... More importantly does anyone know what the weather forcast is for the weekend? I assume it will be the usual circuit attire, wooly hat shorts coat wellies and flip flops, just to make sure all options are covered!! |

There could be a shock winner if who I've heard is replacing Daniel Stilp does indeed do so. Watch this space!

Rivett back on form I reckon. Although Byford will run him close.

Ah, the boy Mullen! He's done this before I believe? Should be good another highly rated driver can't help but raise the profile of the series. Am I right in saying he's not been doing much of late?

Finished second in Clios to Buxton last year. He and Rivett spent the second half of the year smashing into one another.
He raced a Lamborghini at Silverstone earlier this year and blew everyone's doors off. Massive talent who, the rumour goes, was wanted above Button for a drive in F3 in 99. But he didn't have the budget ... |

oh that is going to be good fun and well done to Tim.
BUT I have to say I get a bit annoyed that a really good driver comes in and can affect the championship. Not being nasty but last year Tobia Masini came in and interfered with the front runners - and ended up punting off Byford and cost him his second place. If someone comes in towards the end of the year he must be made to keep away from the chapionship contenders. By all means race but it must be made clear that the front runners are given a wide berth. IMO |

I understand the problem but are you seriously suggesting you tell drivers they can race as long as it's not near the front? Championship or not, aren't all drivers there to win. If you can't race to win why bother.

I have to agree, everyone in the race is trying to win if not they shouldn't be there, more problems would be caused with people trying to get out the way than there would if they were racing.
Someone of Tim's calibre isn't going to turn up and be told to stay out the way. Anyway if he wins, so what the regulars will get a similar spread of point just further down the order. Go for it I say. And good luck to you Tim!! |

Kirkaldy set the fastest ever Clio lap at Snett in testing. He was 4/10th - FOUR TENTHS - quicker than the rest!
Mullen was 8th. |

blast!
It was a good race and they were managing to stay out of trouble (mostly) when Martin Byford misjudged his distance when lapping Jo Kraemer and they were both out and then George hit the marshalls post. good win by Kirkaldy just a pity Martin wasn't in second. ps Bob Smith was in fine form entertaining at Russels Last edited by Les; 28 Jul 2002 at 18:30. |
