Wow. Judging by the statements of the track owner we won't see V8s at the paperclip again!

I like Whincup but they are ridiculous comments from him.

Not really.
If Scott McLaughlan was leading the championship, they'd have asked him, and I'm pretty sure he'd give a similar answer. |

And that would have been equally ridiculous.
Commenting on things outside of his area of knowledge. Compared to calm and balanced opinion delivered by Mark Dutton. |

I think QR is one of the safer tracks. The old earth-tyre-bank barriers at the "other" track can be quite car destroying - especially when you head straight towards one after a right hand corner and small straight!

Ohhhhhhh Dear! Motor Racing is dangerous! ALL tracks used in Oz have safety shortfalls...each and every one...this smells political, street race for Brissy?

Only the beginning
Or maybe this is simply the start of V8Supercrs & Wellcamp Circuit campaign for Government funding to save the lives of professional tin top drivers in Qld by building a new track !.

So why all the public comments from people other than CAMS - just think about it.

John Tetley has been on the record before as not tolerating the bullying from V8Supercars, he is playing them at their own game, they say "we won't come to your track', he says "who gives a ****, we lose money anyway, plenty of other customers who want to use it"
QR is not the only track with that sentiment, Fox told them the same thing years ago which is why they now 'hire' the track and promote it themselves. I know a number of tracks that lose money on the V8 Supercars |

Its not between CAMS and John T, it is a requirement by the FIA's delegate in Australia, to implement safety measures.
If John doesn't want to have it then that's his choice. Its not a battle. And it does cost a owner /club a small fortune to have the Supercar circus at venues, so Johns happy not to have them their. End of story |

Again, as an insider I have seen CAMS be totally unreasonable and have different 'track safety standards' for different tracks, for example Bathurst at places doesn't meet the CAMS 9 metre wide rule, but it never has trouble passing safety inspections, but at other tracks they get out the tape measure - just saying |

QR suffered a tragic accident, don't they need to do more than a bit extra to show they really care about safety.
Handbags at dawn statements are making their situation worse. Surely they need to get CAMS to be more than a bit positive about their setup? More drivers than JW have been negative about a number of circuits after the QR crash. |

I think most will agree that it takes a few similar incidents in one spot, for a track's management to implement effective permanent changes.
Their level of proactivity is usually a measure of arrogance. |
