Something wonderful happens when an awesome sportscar becomes a GT racer. Wings, splitters, diffusers and all the other racing bits make it look much more serious. Glad to see those silly scissor doors are gone too.

I noticed they've abandoned the pop-up doors for a normal outward opening kind.

any thoughtful speculation on debut timeframe/series? Is it built to ACO standard for GT1 or FIA racing? Does look good but kinda pointless just running back and forth on the runways.

Could the road car hinges perhaps have been considered safety risks in case of a crash?

As regards the hinges, possibly as they are in a area not as well protected as where convensional hinges are (an they would probably stick out a bit in/after a crash and you don't want stuff like that sticking out..) .. but then again I could be wrong.. |

I imagine they might have been heavy mechanism as well, and also likely to break in a race car. I seem to notice the Lambo guys always seem to have trouble getting the door down and locked.

Glad to see it....
Now let's hope they have some serious money for development What GT1 needs is more available iron and this is a step in the right direction. If its proven to be fairly quick right out of the box, then more people will knock on the door.. |

Guys, I am well aware of the safety. But it would have looked awesome on the grid, besides a Murc, but with cooler doors opened

How would you open regular doors if you parked it up against the armco?

On the Lambo, a fair amount of the door motion is still outward rather than upward. With the Keonigsegg, you have to push the door outward, then rotate it forward purely in the vertical plane (so it isn't a normal "scissor" door by any means).
