Could fit into the invitation class if the Mk1 ever raced in British Touring Cars.

I take it as in the title it is just for Super Touring. How about a class for Super Production cars?

At the moment it is just for Touring Cars. If there is a demand for Super production then that may be considered at a later date, but for now it is just 3 meetings for Touring Cars.
Avro we had 20 letters of intent and I couldn't tell you how many of those will actually put their money down. All I know is that if there are not enough fully paid up by the end of Feb then it will not happen. All 3 entry fees have to be paid upfront.
We have are cars up for sale and have moved onto other things. I would have liked to participate but my sponsor wants to concentrate on our other projects.

If it's built to Group 1 regs it would be a better fit with the CTCRC Post Historics. IIRC the Mk 1 ran as a 1300GT and later Twin Cam in the Group 2 Championship.

Ford was contentrating on the Bigger Capri between 1971 and 74.

There is always the "Track and Race Car" magazine saloon car championship. Over 30 cars came to Brands last weekend.

If we let big snorty cars in then we are back to Formula Saloons. In 2004 we only had 4 cars out of 18 registered that where non Touring cars. A lot of the Touring car drivers only wanted to race against other Touring cars and not have the more powerful cars out with them. The reason for the 3 meetings is that most drivers could commit to all 3 meetings but no more. This also means that the entry fees can be charged upfront helping the BARC as they will not have to chase up late entries etc. They also know that their money is covered for each meeting regardless of how many turn up.

Yes, it is the same weekend as the Brit GP. Mallory are also hosting a race meeting on the 10th - should be well supported by marshals and spectators as there aren't many other meetings on that weekend.

I expect it will be three races according to the first post of the thread Tony.

There were 20 letters of interest so i expect there to be 15. If the BARC have not received 15 fully paid up registrations by the end of Feb then the series will be canned.
