Andy Woolley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Data Logging

We have recently acquired Steve Wilkinson's ex-European Aviation Reynard 903 with standard Vauxhall XE on Webers. We intend to run it in Mono and SEMSEC this year once it is sorted.

It has a very early digital dash / data logger unit. It was known as the Lola 'Black Box' and was made by PI Research in the early 80's. It looks similar to the current PI System 2. We guess that it was commissioned by Lola for standard fitment in their F3000 and Indycars.

Unfortunately, the RPM counter and oil pressure read outs don't work and we don't have any manuals etc. to refer to. We'd like to get the dash functioning correctly and find out how to download data (i.e. what type of cable and what software can be used). Does anyone out there have any parts, documentation or know-how to offer? PI no longer support this unit and don't even have any reference material apart from a copy of the original sales brochure.

We'll probably end up buying a new System 2 (PI are currently offering these at a big reduction in their end of season sale) but would like to see if we can fix up the existing system first.

Andy, just to wish you all the best with the car and I look forward to seeing it in action. I sooooooooo nearly bought that car and then something else that seemed to meet my needs better unexpectedly came on the market and I bought that instead.

Good luck and have fun!

Andy/Mark,

I've got PI 2 and have the manuals etc...

Maybe the same software in your box, therefore the PI manual may help. Drop me an e-mail if you need.
