I've heard a rumour that Dave Pinkney will enter next year's BTCC... has anyone else heard this ? If os, will it be Class A or B and what machine will he run ? Also wonder what his choice of colour scheme would be...

We spoke to the man himself at Silverstone last month. He is seriously considering a return and was talking to various people. He also expressed interest in the TVR Tuscans and said they would be supporting the BTCC next year.
As for the car colour - PINK of course |

The rumour mill has it that he is looking for a competitive class A drive for next year. Apparently he is "Talking to a number of People" and an announcement will be made soon.
Yawn, why do they al say that! Not sure about TVR's supporting the TOCA package, I suspect they will be in the revamped PowerTour series. |

I have to say I agree with you - Tuscans will go Powertour - looks like we will get pickups (yawn).
I wonder if Vauxhall held back Dave's prize from last year - I mean he is owed a car! |

Perhaps he's waiting until Vauxhall can build a competitive car before he takes the prize

Well that is why he turned down Cleland's car for this year.
It must have been bad for him to prefer not to race than to race uncompetively. |

Is that right that Vauxhall still have to honour Pinkney a car?

No. The deal was that Vauxhall would provide a car for 2000 but he had to provide the budget to run it. If he was unable or unwilling to do that then tough. As I recall he wanted to run 2 cars for himself and Mark Blair but there was no second car available so he didn't bother.

Hubby spoke to Dave this week. He has been talking to various teams and is hopefull for next year.
Just hope Ticehurst is no where near him next year - I can still see the 'coming together' in Snetterton Parc Ferme. |
