I screwed up and made the change....

Too early in the A.M. for me...

BTW....I had a great time at the ALMS race (& support races0 at Mid-Ohio...

and a "Hot Topic" in the crowd last weekend:

Lots of people there (crowd race fans) were hoping the IRL makes Mid-Ohio one of their road course races next season....

The IRL at Mid-Ohio would be cool. Great to see some support for the IRL from the ALMS fans.

Thats for picks changed by the way, Tim

I should have followed your lead, marcus...because Al Unser, Jr. will announce his "retirement" from racing in a news conference at 11 a.m. at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway....

BTW...

Townsend Bell will be named as Mark Taylor's replacement with Panther/Menard....

and it is expected that Jeff Simmons (YES!) will take Little Al's seat with Patrick Racing

and yes...I will have to revise my picks.....

TO THE MODERATORS:

Since "little Al" was my "slowest qualifier," and he will retire today, I have to submit my "revision" to my picks:

5. Slowest Qualifier (2 pts.)
A.J. Foyt, IV

Please edit my picks....

NOTE:

The Orchestra I work for is playing 4 concerts (July 1-4) this weekend that will draw 10,000 people each night ("Independence Day gigs that have fireworks, an artillery battery to fire the cannos during the "1812 Overture," etc.)

I'm up to my eyeballs in media requests and interviews, and I did these picks early before my week turned into a total zoo....

So much for planning ahead....

Thanks in advance for editing my "picks"...I know it is a pain in the butt for you to have to do this...

I appreciate it...

In the Race Portion of the Event, here are the point totals:

No One Picked Rice as the winner

Down F0rce had four of the Top 5 .but none in the correct spots...all others had 3 of the top five (for 3 pts. each) with the exception of Marcus, who had Franchitti in the correct spot, earning another point and a total of four in that section.

No one had Scheckter for the top lap, and Flavinha was closest to the speed:

Actual Fast Lap: 210.723
Flavinha's pick: 211.241

In the MIlestones, Downforce picked two correctly (Kanaan at 50 laps & Rice at 150)...GP Racer & Flavinha picked Kanaan at the 50 lap mark, and Marcus had Rice at the 150 mark

No one had Takagi (the official 1st out or last place by the IRL)

Franchitti was the "Best Mover" (21st - 4th) and no one picked him

Three picks would have received credit for the "Fall From Grace":

Matsuura (8th-18th)
Bell (7th-17th)
Scheckter (5th-15th)

All fell 10 spots....the only person with one of those three was Marcus (matsuura)

and Marcus was closest to the Average speed of 177.183...his pick was 170.333

The Race Only totals were:

1. Marcus -- 10 pts.
2. Down FOrce -- 8 pts.
3. Flavinha -- 7 pts.
4. GP Racer -- 5 pts.
5. Tim N. - 3 pts.

With Qualifying Results added in, there are the "Kansas Pick'ems" total results:

1. Flavinha -- 17 pts.
2. Tim N. -- 15 pts.
3. Downforce -- 14 pts.
4. Marcus -- 13 pts.
5. GP Racer -- 9 pts.

Next race is July 16 or 17 at Nashville.....I'll set up the contest early next week...

Matsuura (8-18),
