Paffett 2005 DTM Champion!
Congratulations to Gary. Amazing season, 84 points, great racing throughout today.
Ekstrom completely lost again today, disqualified from 6th for not taking both compulsary stops as well? What was going on? Hope Frentzen's okay, crash not seen by TV, carried away in an ambulance unconscious - an unfortunate event in an otherwise great race, and end to a fantastic DTM season. |

Amazing, where does he go from here? Forumula 1 hopefully or maybe defend the DTM crown, Albers managed it break into F1...
I hope Frentzen is ok. Also hopefully Lewis Hamilton gets into the DTM, and Green wins next season. |

Fantastic race!
I hope Gary does another year of DTM, wins the championship again and then Mercedes swap Montoya out for him at McLaren F1.. I can dream right? |

Great effort from Gary Paffett to seal the title after a really strong season. His chance of getting into the mercedes junior F1 team for 2007 must surely still be alive. In any case he's got a great career going in DTM, making good money and racing great cars against great stars, so he hasn't lost out. Green will probaly learn from his rookie season and do better next year.

Well done Gary, the best this year by a mile.
When it came to the crunch in the last two rounds, Mercedes and Gary made Audi and co look decidedly average. Where to now? |

SUPERB!!
He needs to defend his crown next year (hopefully including a round at a UK track, Brands ) Then in 2007 he wants to be pushing for a F1 place Ekstrom showed nothing for me today, 2 races in the wet and he lost it. |

A great result! Well done to Gary Paffett for a well driven season. Ekstrom was nowhere again and his odd behavior in race two (not pitting the second time) was silly.
I hope Frenzen is ok, the commentators attitude towards the crash and Frentzens condition left a lot to be desired. |

Yes - Carlton Kirby was disgraceful.
Frentzen is alert and has no back injuries - so good news, but they didn't know that at the time. |

Yeah I agree, its ok now, but saying that the crash "wasn't important" is shocking.

I thought that was Mark Cole who said that the crash wasn't important and went on about about something else although it is off-topic....

As terrible as Carlton Kirby is, this is a thread to congratulate Gary Paffett on taking the title.
So well done to Gary Paffett! |

Very well deserved Paffett!
Too bad about Ekström and Audi, the two last races in wet have been more than dissapointing. But again, congrats to Paffett and Mercedes! |
