Hi All, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with working out details of the Italian GP prices for putting on the Events Guide here on Ten-tenths.
Below are the details given on the Monza website. Can anybody help me out with which of these are for grandstand and which are general admission? Do you need anything like centre transfer for any of the grandstands? Also, there's a bit at the bottom of prices for car / motorbike parking - do you need this if you want to drive to the circuit or is it for some sort of priviledge parking? If you can help out with any of the answers, please send me a PM. Thanks Carrie 72° GRAN PREMIO D'ITALIA F.1 14-15-16 settembre 2001 BIGLIETTI VENERDI' - 14 SETTEMBRE 2001 CIRCOLARE (prato) E TRIBUNE Lit. 60.000 SABATO - 15 SETTEMBRE 2001 CIRCOLARE (prato) Lit. 90.000 TRIBUNA CENTRALE TV (1) Lit. 180.000 TRIBUNA ESTERNA PRIMA VARIANTE TV (8) Lit. 180.000 TRIBUNE ASCARI UNO E DUE TV (15-13) Lit. 180.000 TRIBUNE (4-7-9-10-12-22-26) scegliere una delle tribune Lit. 130.000 TRIBUNE (6-21-23) scegliere una delle tribune Lit. 110.000 DOMENICA - 16 SETTEMBRE 2001 CIRCOLARE (prato) Lit. 90.000 TRIBUNA CENTRALE TV - C (1) Lit. 700.000 TRIBUNA LATERALE SINISTRA TV - C (4) Lit. 500.000 TRIBUNA LATERALE DESTRA TV - C (26) Lit. 600.000 TRIBUNA ALTA VELOCITA' A TV (6) Lit. 400.000 TRIBUNA ALTA VELOCITA' B - C TV (7) Lit. 500.000 TRIBUNA ESTERNA PRIMA VARIANTE TV (8) Lit. 600.000 TRIBUNA SECONDA VARIANTE TV (9) Lit. 400.000 TRIBUNA DELLA ROGGIA TV (10) Lit. 400.000 TRIBUNA ASCARI TRE (12) Lit. 400.000 TRIBUNA ASCARI DUE TV (13) Lit. 600.000 TRIBUNA ASCARI UNO TV (15) Lit. 600.000 TRIBUNA LATERALE PARABOLICA TV (21) Lit. 400.000 TRIBUNA PARABOLICA TV-C (22) Lit. 500.000 TRIBUNA PARABOLICA INTERNA TV (23) Lit. 400.000 Abbonamento 3 GIORNI Curva Laterale Parabolica TV (21) Lit. 500.000 Abbonamento 3 GIORNI Tribuna Serraglio (11) Lit. 350.000 Abbonamento 3 GIORNI Tribuna Junior (17) Lit. 350.000 Abbonamento circolare 3 GIORNI Lit. 170.000 Abbonamento auto/van area campeggio 3gg valido solo se abbinato all'abbonamento 3gg Lit. 100.000 Ingresso giornaliero AUTO (parcheggio dietro Tribuna 8) Lit. 50.000 Ingresso giornaliero MOTO/SCOOTER Lit. 20.000 |

Just in case you don't get a response here, Carrie, I have emailed my brother's Italian girlfriend who may be able to help.

the abbonamento is general admission. at monza, it's great. there's plenty of places to view from, so long as you get there relatively early on race day, or camp there from friday onwards (ascari chicane - no big screen, but amazing in the wet).
no-one really takes their car there and back - most go in campers, so the parking isn't quite as busy as silverstone. if you hire a camper in england, and ask someone very nicely to disconnect the speedo (we hired ours in france), you just drive arond till you find somewhere to stop.. you have to have a camping ticket, but i can't tell you about whether you need general admission or not for a grandstand ticket. i don't think you do... but don't quote me on that. ascari is where we sat, and it was excellent. as was camping. we turned up on friday night, and the campsites were full. so we pitched up on the road to the campsite. fantastic noise, great people around us, everyone was great. they were a tad suspicious because we had french plates (no, worse, they were paris plates), but when they fathomed out we were english and we had fireworks and bangers, they welcomed us in like old friends. uh, if anyone's planning on going (for christs sake, go. it's cheaper than silverstone in all ways, and it's a much better time), i'll see you there... |

No GA tickets are needed if you have Grandstand tickets - that I think is only at Le Mans.
TRIBUNA LATERALE SINISTRA TV - is where we watched the race and it is rotten - you sit in a covered grandstand on the pit straight but you can't see a darned thing from there. We did see Zonta and Mika walking back from their day-ending Offs. Vendors go through selling ear plugs for those who are more used to Champ Cars and didn't think they'd need them. You do need them. TRIBUNA SECONDA VARIANTE TV is, I think, where we sat for the practice days and qualifying (it used to be called the Variente Esterna and is at the bottom of the chicayne coming off that big sweeper where Mika came to grief in 1999). Those are excellent seats and I got a lot of good photos there - plus four cars went off during practice (Trulli went off in both his race car and his backup car) which made for excitement and the marshalls tossed bits of the Prost up into the stands as they were cleaning up. The signage and most of the track volunteers and vendors are in Italian only, which is a challenge. But we did fine with a phrase book and if you can read Spanish you can read Italian. |
