I got GT the second it was released and immediately fell in love with it - racing my little purple Honda Civic around Deep Forest was fantastic. I won every single competition in the game except the final reverse Midsummer Festival.
I bought GT2, and returned it within a week - for me it wasn't a sequel, merely an update. The new tracks were dull and graphically messy, as were the new cars. The races were now boring and seemingly impossible to win, even in the Sunday Cup. Tedium soon set in. So which GT does it for you, and why? And yes, I am looking forward to GT 3 A-Spec... |

Personally I also liked GT1 as once again, the same as Mark some of the races in GT2 are very hard! I especially hate the Leguna Seca track but it is raceable (except the corksrew turn)

Forget GT1 and GT2 I've been playing the demo for GT3 and it's fantastic. It came on a demo disk with the Playstation 2 mag in OZ. You get the option of three cars (Nismo GT-R'99, the Pagani Zonda C12 and the RUF CTR2). You also get the choice of racing on either Laguna Seca or Trial Mountain. The only problem is you have 150 second of play, but it does show the replay. Graphically it's awsome and has a silky smooth frame rate. Oh and the lighting affects are brilliant. I could go on and on. Anyway I can't wait for its release (as if you couldn't guess)

I have the demo too - and very impressive it is, if a little lacking at the moment.

Loved them both!! My wife bought GT2 for me so she could get some "nettime" and was very unhappy when i had finished it 15 days later "90 FN dollars and you finish it in two weeks!!!"
I liked how the prices for cars sold were variable instead of just $12500 and the dirt racing in GT2. A track it a track and if you race on them all long enough they all become boring! I don't have a PS2 as I bought a Go kart and ALL my $$$ go into that now but GT3 may make it necessary to buy one! |

GT2 is the only game I have ever played that has kep my attention for more than six months. It came out on my birthday in 1999 and I've been playing it ever since. Lagune seca or apricot hill all the way!
The graphics are better than the original, the car setup is better (apart form the gears) and I like the way camber affects the cars. All it needs now is decent weather (rain...). |

Preferred GT2 as I found it a bit easier.
