FIM Winners Game ---> Qatar

Second round of Summer Cup.

I don't know much about Qatar circuit, but I'm certainly looking forward this GP to see if there is some chance of Rossi having a "bad" season and we can see him "fighting" for the championship, not walking away with it.

I want to deny some rumours that have been spreading in some forums (Bike Racing, Motorsport History, Metaphysical Health, Bible Racing): I negate "marcus" is a bot I run here in the game. He is for real. The only bot I use here is BOTTY. Stop.

This season 125 looks as chaotic as always, I don't have a clue yet about who riders are going to dominate. In 250 thing possibly are a bit clearer, but no much for the moment (Lorenzo?). MotoGP is intriguing about Ducati's real possibilities and Rossi/Yamaha doing not so well. But I think this is a bit of wishful thinking wanting a great season.

Let's see what hindsights we get from qualifying. We *know* at least some of races are going to be great, anyway!

Rules are:

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three differents games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Appart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

Example:

Let's suppose in Jerez you put the following guesses and the real winners are Simoncelli, Angelis and Rossi:
125 = Simoncelli, P.Nieto, Lai (you get 2.5 points for Simoncelli)
250 = Porto, Dovizioso (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Rossi (you get 3 points for Rossi)

Good fun for everybody

If Biaggi wins in Qatar, I'm going to give you the Cup already!

(Clue: Max doesn't ride this year)

I'm sorry to interrupt your relax but please amend that guess, my friend. I want to give you full points if Rossi wins

Welcome back guessing, after missing last round

Good point, Dani. Actually, I had forgot it was on Saturday!

Sadly, I am afraid we will lose some players because of it.

Why everyone is posting their predictions before qualifying is beyond me, it gives the people that wait and post their results after qualifying a massive advantage.

In a way it's good and bad that you can't just put "Rossi, Capirix, Melandri" and be pretty sure you're gonna get a result.

Stoner will fall off!

One day he will be great but he's a crasher... He's got flu and is recovering from injury.

I hope he doesn't fall off though - could be a stonker of a race. Pedrosa, Rossi, Stoner, Capirex, Gibernau, Melandri, and Elias all have a chance. Maybe even Roberts and Hayden?

And I'm forgetting Colin Edwards who might steal the thunder from them all...

I still have faith in the Master though.

250cc - Barbera / Lorenzo / Dovizioso
MotoGP - Stoner / Capirossi / Rossi

I was hesitant at first to pick Stoner, but having just watched his performance in qualifying, I think he is a special. He was doing low to mid 1:56's lap after lap while most others were in the 1:57's before putting in a quick lap.
If he gets a start like he did at Jerez (15th to 5th by first corner) they will be hard pressed to catch him. He is the REAL deal!

Uffff, ten-tenths was down for some time and I was wondering if I could not put my guess!

125: Bautista, Pasini, Kallio
250: Lorenzo, Barbera
MotoGP: Capirossi, Rossi, Pedrosa

BOTTY:
125: Bautista
250: Lorenzo
MotoGP: Capirossi, Stoner

I am a bit wary of Stoner possibilities (pretty much David's thoughts) altough I admit I can think on him as winner. In 250 the field looks thin by now, so it's difficult to see who is going to stop Lorenzo (or even Barbera).

In 125 I have some faith in my trio B, P & K.

BOTTY's guess is too risky, but the second GP in the season is the most dangerous for his(?) "programmed procedure".
