More Insight
Sounds to me like Mr Crennan has been brought on board to shore up the Kelly brand, to build some logical business plans, which the article suggests may not be in place A competitor to HRT anyone? |

Hmmmm...I seem to be talking to myself... [echo... echo... echo...]
Anyhoo... as I understand it, Mr Grech may actually be working for the Kellys, on the new extension of the Braeside premises announced a little while ago. Presumably the puddle jump to an operational team management role isnt that far off possible either. Stranger things have happened of course |

Meantime, did anyone notice that Mr Skaife was on the teev the other night, talking about driver education & road safety, from the Kelly Racing bunker, with the Jack Daniels cars in the background?
So.. what chance an HRT, Kelly-style, with the old gang back in place? With Mr Crennan on board, Mr Grech, Mr Kelly and friends, plus a number of former HRT staffers now conscripted to satellite WP-assisted teams who have indicated their presence may not be required next season... its not beyond the realms of possibility.... Commercial sponsorship is the one thing that will determine the success of this operation in this form. The Jack Daniels funding does not appear large enough to sustain the operation without the assistance of a manufacturer, while the 3rd and 4th cars do not seem to be outcome driven, more that they spread operating costs over a wider base. With Mr Crennan on board, can Kelly Racing achieve Holden backing next season? |

My understanding would be that Bargwanna Motorsport would fund Bargs' season. That is, a business that he runs, providing motorsport and promotional services to businesses in return for sponsorship money. Considering that it started in the Mini Challenge, and became successful enough to fund a move into V8 Supercars, that is a reasonably good sign.... not a guarantee of sustainability, but certainly displays a level of business nous which will stand him in good stead for the future.

Bargs
Thanks Rombles, I'm questioning the sustainability of the Kelly business model & its 3rd & 4th cars, not Bargs.
How long will competitors be happy with the hand me down gear, i.e the parallel with the Britek barge. |

For many it's also a case of drive 2nd (or maybe 3rd or 4th) best car or nothing at all.
