Lewis. Won the race, on a track where the Ferrari was better.

Kimi, drove superbly but felt Ferrari let him down.

They had to react to Mercedes stopping. Lewis would probably have got the undercut if Kimi had stayed out. The reason they were in that position was that Kimi didn’t open enough of a gap. He only needed 2-3s lead to be allow them to react a lap later than Lewis pitted. He failed to do that. Vettel would have managed that (if he hadn’t messed up in a different way).
I was cheering for Kimi and was gutted, but he wasn’t let down by the team they did what they had to. |

Vettel - not seen the race, but read about it. Story says that Vettel lost out due to a racing incident, so not his fault. Therefore, bad luck aside, drove a good race....

I don’t think that he should be blamed for crashing into Hamilton, but it was his mistake that put him in that poor position. Although he drove well after to grab some points.

Hamilton for me. Drove a great race, forcing Vettel into a stupid error. That must have been a very sweet win indeed. |

No doubt about it: Lewis. The move on Vettel was the overtake of the season. Always gave him room, but Vettel wasn't able to make use of the space he was given. I bet those boos sounded good on the podium.
Honourable mention for Kimi. Beat his championship-chasing team-mate in qually. Raced well at the front, especially re-taking the lead at the second chicane after getting mugged at the first. He's performed really well this year and definitely deserves to keep the seat for next year. Dishonourable mention for Max. He must be running out of friends in the paddock. It really is time he understood that moving under braking is against the rules for him too, as well as everyone else. |

Anyway, Hamilton was the best on the day. Fastest car and he made the most of it. |

Lewis is the standout with a clear advantage over his teammate, a sublime execution of a valiant team team strategy and a tidy move on Vettel.

Kimi 100 percent.
The team let him down and fell for the Merc fake in the pits resulting in a pit stop that was way too early. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm not sure the team let Kimi down. He's also responsible for driving the car and setting it up as to not abuse its tyres. He didn't and Lulu had an easy win in the end. It wasn't helped by Bottas getting in the way but I think Lulu was always going to catch and pass him.
It's just a case of the Ferrari wasn't the best car on the day. |

I agree. I also suspect the fastest car yesterday was the Ferrari. Generally it is considered to be a better race car than it is a qualifying car and it qualifyied 1-2. Hamilton managed to our race Vettel and put him in a position where he made a mistake. He then had the speed to keep Räikkönen honest. Which meant he had the upper hand in strategy calls as he could react to the other team. He still had to put in good laps, not lose too much time on old tyres and then keep the pressure on until Räikkönen was in trouble near the end.

Kimi. He may not be as good as he once was, but he can still pull out a great drive like that every now and again. Shame his tyres couldn't hold

Ferrari only choosing one set of softs didn’t help, but what let Kimi down was not being quick enough. A 3s gap to Lewis and there would have been no issue as they could have dictated strategy.

The 3s needed to be built up on the first stint so that if Merc went in early it wouldn’t have mattered. They could react to Ferrari a lap later and not worry about the undercut. As it was they had to react to Merc immediately and then Merc could simply do the opposite.
No lead and Merc dictates the strategy. |
