F1 Con rod dimensions
Hello,
I'm looking for data about F1 engines such as the dimensions of the con rod, the bore and stroke I've found in the engine's section of F1mech.com. I'm looking for it in order to build a kinematic scheme, so I have the current speeds and almost all dimensions but it's needed the distance between axis of the con rod ( from the cranckshaft to the piston rod ( gudgeon pin). Thanks |

Of course no one is talking, but speaking generically around 125mm center to center wouild be a good guesstimate for rod length, and bore/stroke will be around 96mm/42.3mm. I think you'd find that these figures are close. I'd more than welcome anything else anyone could add here though!

115mm c to c would have been a typical dimension a few years back. I think you'd find they've grown a bit since then. Rumor is that BMW uses rods more than 125mm now.
