August 11th Mallory Test
The Wednesday morning 'Mallory Classic' lives on. Hall & Hall had 5 F1 cars lined up alongside their transporter including an ex Gunnar Nilson JPS Lotus, joined on track by Simon Hadfield in a Maserati 250F and 2 modern Benettons, one driven by Scott Mansell, there were 3 Formula Juniors including a Merlyn and an ex Peter Revson Cooper. a March 75S, Ian Ashley in a Formula Atlantic, a Hinook, a couple of Sports 2000's, a Jedi and the usual Formula Ford 16/18/2000's.
The Tin Tops were headed by a very quick Saker, a pair of Caterhams, a very ugly Kit Car, Porsche 911 & 944, Lola T70, a surprisingly quick Standard Vanguard, a very early Morris Mini Cooper, and 3 Ginetta's - 2 Juniors. It was also good to spend the morning in the company of John Sadler who's over for his 'summer holidays'. |
