Type: Koenigsegg V8 cast aluminium, 4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts.
Displacement: 5,000 cm3 Lubrication system: Dry sump with oil spray piston cooling. Oil cooler. The standard road car has a supercharged 4,700 cm3, but the superchargers have been remoned and the displacement enlarged for the race engine. With more development, it may end up growing even more... pit |

is a 5 liter going to be enough?? with the Ferrari, and AM at 6 liters and the Corvette at 7 liters
what are the potential HP and tq numbers ? How many road going cars have they produced? is this company going to fund a GT1 team or hopefully sell cars to a customer based team ?? I know I know lots of questions, But not all ideas actully make it to the grid and green flag. |

The horsepower numbers are 600hp, no numbers on torque yet, but the weight is 1100kg, "Due to the fact the Koenigsegg CC cars are very light and stiff in road confi guration, the racing CCGT weighs in at just under an astounding 1,000 kg. This gives the possibility to place 100 kg of ballast freely within the car structure, still following the set rules. This should give Koenigsegg an interesting advantage over the competition"
I found the information out at http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame...hp&carnum=3132 |

Good deal. Hopefully they will sell 25 road going cars, for a small manufacture to qualfy for FIA /ACO racing.
Rember there are minium weight all cars must have. something like 1190 kg min and all compition cars are the same why. Underweight so balest can be added in the passanger compartment floor next to the tunnel for a lower CG. Looking forward to a new car in the GT1 race seen. All GT1 cars are very expesive, between $500,000 to $750,000 to build ONE car. and $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 to run a race campaign for a year. Last edited by AU N EGL; 5 Mar 2007 at 12:40. |

If the FIA/ACO see the CC8S, CCX, and CCR all as the homologated production versions then I'm fairly sure Koenigsegg has met the 25 minimum requirement.

They are using a suped up Ford Cobra engine in the street version so I assume that the 5.0L would be some kind of version of Ford 5.0 Cammer engine

i believe koenigsegg use the same basic architecture as the ford engine but very little else, i think maybe the block is even more segg than ford, it is an extremely bespoke engine not a crate jobby, read this through Evo magazine and various other sources.
from Koenigsegg press release Engine Koenigsegg developed 5.0L V8 cast aluminium, 4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts. , normally aspirated, drysumped with roller throttles and individual intake trumpets. Nira engine control and i'm guesssing its the same as the CCR engine http://www.koenigsegg.com/thecars/en...?engineering=2 Last edited by ccharlie6; 6 Mar 2007 at 00:33. |

Unless the car has major backing, it will be another embarrassment like the Zonda.

I think if Koenigsegg are approaching this from a perspective of racing it themselves for good marketing, or providing factory support, they're more apt to succeed than the ill-fated Carsport Pagani debacle. That lacked all the support from the manufacturer and associated development necessary to lead to success.
Fogelhund, to be honest, makes a better point than I do! |

Yes the actuall Ford block is iron. The block the Saleen used is a Ford Design, but an alumium block.
