Ssangyong Rexton
Does anyone own a Ssangyong Rexton or know off someone who does? our family went for a test drive the other day as dad was considering leasing one but it looks like he's going to hold off for now and keep the Commodore a little longer. We enjoyed the test drive, it was a impressive vehicle and we even took a picture of it parked in our driveway.

This is the thing that looks like an armadillo swallowing a bus right? Probably great value if you actually need all that iron!

I was following on yesterday.
Saw the big "Rexton" on the back - had no idea what it was. Thanks to this thread, I do now! |

It's a marvellously ugly car! You would, however, be as well throwing a large amount of money in a suitcase off a cliff and going for something second hand.

The Terracan at least gets credibility for being so utterly cartoon-like, and with rather unfortunate tsunami-wave shaped wheelarches on the latest model.
And it's a really silly name (they make a Trajet too, don't they) which is always fun. I have to say i find it rather depressing how the engineering blind alley that is overweight offroaders is taking over the automotive world... There aren't, in the uk at least, many automotive functions that cannot be performed by a Fiat 500, and those that there are are probably within the remit of a Doblo; and failing that, a LandRover... I'll get off my (rusty) soapbox now! |

The choice was between the Terracan or the Rexton but the Rex won out and now it's only a matter of time until we get one.

I would have been boring ans selected a Honda CRV or something from the Toyota range... bulletproof, and with a very good resale value... not sure you can say that about the Ssangyong....

We won't be getting a 4WD until next year now, hopefully we look at a diesel Territory some time next year. The Rexton's resale could be a problem but there's not many other diesel 4WD's in it's price range.

Saw one yesterday, now I'm tempted to merge this thread and the Ugly Cars thread....
