Conspiracy theory #264
Jenson has a big shunt in testing today, more "concussion" and can't race in US or Japan
Sato drafted in against JV in Indy and Suzuka. Honda gets Sato into a car for Japan, and Dave Richards gets his "driver shoot out" with JV vs Sato, the one that JV says he has no intention of taking part in! Stranger things have happened!! |

Jenson is fine, just a bit of bruising on his knee...I doubt it will keep him out of the USA GP let alone the Japanese. However Sato vs Villeneuve? Bring it on I have every confidence that JV would (of course given a reliable car) destroy Sato pretty easily.

Doesn't it seem sad that drivers like Fisichella, Coultard, Barrichello, and Ralf all have secure seats in F1, despite having had race winning cars for many more seasons than Jacques, yet failing to chalk up as many wins as he (let alone a WDC) that it is Jacques who doesn't have a drive in F1??? Sad indeed. |

Sato is no slouch. So if they do happen to race in Japan against each other, Sato goes on low fuel in qually, uses his local knowledge to beat JV by 3 or 4 places on the grid, makes a good start compared to a bad one by JV and leads him by 6 or 7 places at the end of the first lap. JV's longer first stint is of no use to him and Sato easily beats him. Sounds possible doesn't it. |

JV is still better than Sato. Do not forget that Sato was not so great last year. I think he is an average driver, by far the best ever Japanese driver but nothing more. At the same time JV is a WDC and one should never forget that. I do not even think that Sato could even beat any of the current BAR testdrivers, but of course I could be wrong. I would compare Sato to Fireman, both have the Japan connection and both are British F3 champions and both dissapointed in their first year of F1, both partnering Fisi, both in a Jordan :-))).

Most drivers look pretty lame next to Fisichella. Button certaily did, and I'm sure even a well-motivated JV would struggle against him.
It would be a shame if, given a JV / Sato pairing, the team resorted to dirty tricks like those suggested by Swerve, so as to make Jacques look rubbish. It's sad that the Honda pressure in the team is so strong that they want to remove a World Champion in favour of a Japanese nobody who wrote off stacks of cars in his first season adn only won in F3 due to being in the dominant team with a rookie team-mate who was beating him regularly by June. |

Of course, wasn't JVil supposed to waste Jenson Timberlake this year?
You can call Sato overrated (but calling him a nobody is a bit harsh, considering who it's coming from), but if you compare his second half last year to Button's in 2001 they are not too much different, though I would say Button was closer to Fisico, he also had a year's experience in hand. The "JVil was a World Champion X many years ago" chant is rather meaningless, as his trophies doesn't do the driving for him. Just as JVil has been a disruptive with BAR (though to his credit he is trying to change that, just way too late), both Hill (salary) and Prost (whining) were booted because their presence was more detrimental to the team for the immediate future, that despite having won WDCs. Get over it, especially if he won it before you even hit puberty. |

Ah, Corkholio, exactly how does the time of which a certain person hits puberty effect the extend of success of a driver winning a world championship?
I think people are only saying that to remind those people who want to endlessly bash Jacques, that he did actually have some talent, and isnt exactly that ****! |
