so...... that brings to me the idea. Jos will begin a new business of his own. A Car wash at the A1-ring parking lot.

A friend of mine who used to work for Arrows told me the deal with HHF was done over a month ago.

OFFICIAL: Arrows announces Frentzen
Tom Walkinshaw:
"We're very pleased that Heinz-Harald is joining the team. He is a recognised top-line driver and has proved his mettle by winning three Grands Prix during his career. We are at an important stage in the development of OrangeArrows and feel that Heinz-Harald has the necessary experience to help us move forward." Heinz-Harald Frentzen: "The team has a fantastic facility and a lot of very talented and dedicated people. All the ingredients are there to take a major step forward and I'm convinced we will be successful." |

Good news for HHF, it'll be interesting to see how he does.
Shame for Jos though |

I wish him NO luck. Hope Jos gets a testing job with Toyota and a race drive in 2003.

I feel sorry for Jos, last year he looked to have a deal in place for the following season, probably for the first time.
He's a brave hard charger but maybe he should have convincingly outpaced Bernoldi towards the end of last season to remove any doubts. HHF will go one of two ways, if the the car is tidy (the engines are strong) he will go OK. If he can't get things the way he likes (he constantly complained of faults with the car at Jordan - which engineers could never find) he will nosedive. On another note, why hasn't TW learned from other teams experience and pick a young driver on the way up as opposed to a driver definately on the way down. Justin Wilson, Mark Webber (prior to signing for Minardi) Enge, plus other F3000 stars all available.....Could this be the underlying fault with Arrows as a team - spending too, much time looking backwards or standing still as opposed to going forwards....TW's bold statements since taking over team have not produced any better results than Arrows old regime, run since 1978! |

Malacca Hex
Some of you will remember that I put a Malacca Hex on Tom Walkinshaw after his underhand dealings with PDLR. Well, I have intensified this hex, and some of you will begin to notice that his hair will be falling out rapidly this year, and the hex will also mean he will not be able to raise one when he wants to. Arrows will not come to any good this year - that is my hex on TW.

I like Arrows to the point that I'd say I'm an Arrows fan, but I don't like the way TW put Jos out in the cold and I think that HHF did a very poor job for Jordan last year. EJ was right to get rid of him. I would have thought the someone with as much experience as TW could have seen this.
I'm predicting Bernoldi to kick his slow arse. |

That's pretty much the best way the silly season could have panned out for me really, with Webber, Raikkonen, Massa and McNish and now Frentzen all ending up in reasonable places. Shame for Jos though, he deserves to be in F1. I am no fan of him really, but I can see he must be very disappointed.
Obviously money means more than skill today, and that's why Bernoldi is in an Arrows and Jos is sitting around twiddling his thumbs. |

Really, was it any surprise. It was just the same as the Minardi-Webber story.
I feel for Jos but for the first time since 1997 Arrows now have top-line driver in HHF. Perhaps, with a reliable car packaged with the Cosworth engine, Arrows can deliver on some of the promises they've been giving since the end of last year? |

Sorry guys. I know some of you doesn't like merging threads, but it's a better way to keep the discussion
Back to the topic, I feel sorry for Steve Nielsen, our mate, that has been denying this rumour for the last weeks. Steve, can you tell us, as you are close to Jos, where the driver is going to end up ? Good Luck Jos. Last edited by Bononi; 7 Feb 2002 at 10:58. |

It's very stupid how Verstappen-fans react on the news off Verstappen. It's very sad also.
Real fans, does not react like this. For those fans i've got a suggestion: Cry out, and look forward.. Bye, A DUTCH McLaren/ Verstappen fan. |

Mr Newey
I'm not a big Jos fan. I just don't like the way TW has handled everything and I think that HHF is on slippery spiral downwards as shown last year. |

Av8rirl> Ofcourse your right Mr. Walkinshaw has made himself the second most wanted man in Holland behind Osama Bin Laden and fans can't wait to shake hands with him.
I am also very dissapointed. I have bought myself a ticket from € 300 to see Verstappen drive! And now it's gone... But I am looking forward to 2003! |
