No more Promec

Sadly DSC is reporting the the Promec project has come to an end.

While never my favourite and never really likely to challenge for anything serious in the LMES, the series is, in my opinion, worse off for this. The car actually looked reasonably pretty at Monza and the participation of diverse cars like this is something that should be encouraged - one of the things that really appeals about sportscar racing is that the cars look different and teams try different things.

More seriously, it's disappointing that the team appears to have folded more or less completely rather than shelving the current chassis and planning for 2006.

I think they made a mistake by developing a LMP900/LMP1 instead of LMP2 car.

Interesting thought. It was derived from an SR1 car - are there any instances of people "downclassing" from SR1 to LMP2?

I can't remember where the Courage chassis list I read recently was, whether here or on some website. I do however remember that at least one Courage chassis had been both a C60 and a C65, and I believe was then made a C60 again. I know it's a different scenario, but such a thing is possible.

Mr. Trombetti is an excellent designer...it is a real shame that this car didn't have a good powerplant when it started out....first the BMW 5.0 L, then the underpowered Sodemo Pug Turbo that Henri dumped two season ago...

Nice-looking chassis....

Maybe someone in the USA should buy it for cheap and run it in the ALMS....

I would surely welcome its arrival...I've followed that program for a few years now...

It is a shame, indeed...

I think the Pesca chassis were both purchased before the C65 was designed, but I might be wrong...
