Barrie should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
IRE and GBR Div 1 driver pool.

Carnegie(Focus), Gollop(Focus soon to be SAAB), McCluskey(Xsara), Hill(Lancer), Bell(Corolla), Mundy(Focus), Evans(Astra), Holfeld(RS2000), Grant(Escort WRC), McCann(IMPREZZA), Proctor(IMPREZZA), M.Morris(IMPREZZA), A.Morris(IMPREZZA), Anson(KA4x4), Manning(Puma4x4), Tracey(307WRC), Doran(Fiesta4x4), Bardy(Astra) plus the possibles of McHale and Nesbitt and the purchaser of the Gollop Focus, We could have a very healthy looking sport again in time.

Nittymaki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Also the possibilities of Gibson in a Subaru, Gooding in a Fiesta, Horsley definately in something special and European legal, and also the likes of Rogers and Turpin all making noises of moving up to the class. There may also be another former supercar driver Jason Stone returning next year.

Things looking very good indeed, who ever said the sport was in crisis!!

What we need now though is a single definitive championship to bring them all together. What's clear at the moment is that very few of those drivers are commited to both RSS and MSA, so it still doesn't solve the problem of getting all these drivers together at single events regularly.

Looks like the drivers are doing their bit so its time for the organisers to get their heads together.......otherwise the definitive championship for many could end up being the ERC, or even the Irish Champs.

Not sure about rallycross being in a crisis but having lots of exotic machinery (with more to follow) without IMO a worthy championship to host them, is certainly very concerning. These drivers deserve better for the time, money and effort that they put in.

Is the RSS / BRDA working party still talking? Any news?

Personally I still think it would be better if the BRDA kept the MSA British championship but gave its support to a LIMITED number of grand prix style RSS rounds (say 3 - a British Super Prix, a Irish Super Prix and one continental event). RSS might then have a better chance of getting some European drivers over here - there has been no sign of these so far. Unless they come over we'll never get an ERC round again...

You've also got Briggs with the Clio and Goodings current Escort (although they're not Div1 spec they are active supercars).
