FPR looking for a new naming rights sponsor?
It seems the much lauded partnership with OzJet is no more....
On sponsorshiphq.com, Ford Performance Racing has available a sponsorship opportunity is for co-naming rights of the number 5 Falcon with Ford Credit The Investment: Mid-to-high six-figure sum p.a which is interesting in the sense that the team seems to some extent to be subsidising the sponsorship opportunity.... I think Mark Winterbottom will do well in this car next season, especially since the team have nailed together a new chassis to replace the donald ducked #5 unit of this season... but it seems an odd way for the 'Ford Factory Team' to be advertising for sponsors.... shouldnt they be falling over themselves to get onboard?? |

Another great example of Mr Stoddart's business acumen.
With apologies to John Laws; "When you're not on a good thing, get off it..........." |

Just Henry's boys trying to make a dollar go further - why do both factories have so much trouble getting sponsors ?

A team that shafts Lowndes and Seton, and that is still essentially totally hopeless deserves no sponsors nor very many fans !!!
Surely HRT don't need any sponsors with their mega bucks budget. If so much of the car didn't have red and white HRT logos using up all the space then they might do a bit better with actually having a prominant position to negotiate a signage deal with Jill and Pete's Dog Wash or ICS SmartCard for example? |

OZJET is just not attracting the passengers it anticipated according to news clips i heard and even had to cancel some flights though lack of patronage-sad when Stoddart has been such a strong supporter of motorsport and giving Webber his first go at F1.

OzJet's promotional scheme is extremely daggy to say the least!
A classy ad about the luxuries of business class... OzJet? No that would be Qantas. Murray Walker screaming "OzJet is Go, Go, Go!" however... |

It was, but the FPR brainstrust were ever hopeful of attracting Mr Stoddart as a key member of teh FPR team, and indeed were alleged to have discussed an equity position....

[QUOTE=Just Do It!]Hate to tell you, but FPR and HRT have two of the biggest - if the the absolute biggest - budgets of any teams on the grid. HRT can basically spend whatever. FPR probably don't even spend all that they receive as it is pretty big.
Then there is merchandise.....! QUOTE] Yes and FPR are a disgrace. And forunately HRT have plently of stuff ups to keep them away from winning the championship. Why not triple SBR's budget, and make cuts slash FPR as they are a waste of time and space! Instead of being a winning, happy force with fan-favorites Seton & Lowndes.. building on the heritage of a double championship winning team What do we have? An IMHO-unpleasant team Jason Bright, who manage a fantastic effort of spending a gazillion dollars to battle with low-budget Garry Rogers Motorsport for a similar spot in the championship! |

Maybe OzJet could sponsor Team Dynamik? Presuming cut-cost sponsorships are still all the rage at Dynamik among many others, that could be good value!

The last factory team in Australian touring car racing would have been Toyota Team Australia when they pulled out after 1990, or depending on how you viewed it, BMW Motorsport Australia in Super Touring in 1997 after Frank Gardner gave up the reigns. |

have you walked down the main street of Clayton lately....it could be anywhere in the world but Australia IMHO there would not be to many companies wanting to throw money at FPR. Managment is a big issue down there. For example The big fella comes over from England making promises to everyone then disappears.....Roland Dane is on deck and leading from the front.....the boys at Prodrive could learn a thing or two from these guys |

http://www.fpv.com.au/fpr/index.asp?link_id=5.900, this is about Winterbottom driving the #5 car. Anyway, Prodrive is one of the most richest teams in the V8's, so, why lose the main FPV title for someone else and off topic for a little bit, Alex Davision might become a co driver for the Blue Oval team

Unless it's FTR where crappy underfunded budget goes in! Boo, no Lowndes and Seton in 2001 shame shame shame ford , only to scamper back over your tracks two years later and then turf out Seton & Lowndes, go backwards with mega bucks (how?) and turn it into a team which is very awful and unsupportable IMHO. |

Well you best hope that there were not any potentual sponsors at the big sponsor /fan 2 day festival held at Phillip Island last week, rumour has it that both cars expired and they had to apply to change the permit to allow running in road cars on the final day..........

Not that anyone who wasn't at that round (Hidden Valley wasn't it?) would know about it; that car certainly didn't get shown on the TV. In fact it seems the only time the Dynamik/Longhurst/whatever-they-are-this-week cars get shown on TV is when they are upside down or Mr Longhurst is parking them in a wall.
