A good calendar for 2011!!
I like the structure of it too, nice early start in march and a late finish in October. Shame we couldnt do Silverstone, just as its a personal favourate but I'm sure theres good reason. Anyway Well done CTCRC |

It is provisional and could change to include Silverstone, looks like we will be seeing more of my Pre 93 car out on the tighter tracks especially the Rock.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, I should be out at a few of those meetings. March - not a hope in hell April - who knows, would like to be, but may be on holiday. May - more likely June - ought to be July - if it's Silverstone August - that's a good idea September - Must October - If it held together previously! |

Pembrey wont be changed for Silverstone Rob not a chance, its not a bad track Pembrey more interesting than the Silverstone National although geographically I would rather go to Silverstone.

Ho hum, let us know when the Silverstone round is going to happen.
I suppose it'll allow me time for a holiday in July then. |

Calm down Al,I think Silverstone International is the most boring circuit in the Uk, Stowe is far better (even the old one) and Pembrey is a little friendly Peach and well worth the 500 mile trip for, but you don't need to shout

Ah but Silverstone International circuit is NOW the one that used to be southern circuit including the Abbey to The Loop part of the new GP circuit with a link back on to Becketts/Chapel area, Including the New pit complex..

Ahhhh in that case I reserve my judgement on the new Silverstone National, in my opniion the old layout's straights were too long and corner's not long enough to make much time back. I may be wrong but it feels like the track with the least cornoring percentage. Hopefully some boffin may have the equasion and figures to enlighten me?
Looking forward to try the new layout |

It's the 500 miles round trip (and 50 gallons of Petroleum Spirit to get there/back) that puts me off Al!
I have raced there, a couple of times, over the years, right back to 1990 a year after they first opened it up and race control was a double decker bus, scrutineering was a tent. But I don't find it that spectacular that I want to spend £275 just getting there. It's a nice layout, but it's another airfield circuit. I can drive 43 miles from my yard to the paddock and have far better facilities - even if you lot don't seem to like the S word. |

In fact - I'd much sooner drive up to Croft. I've always liked that place, even if I haven't raced there in yonks!
Why hasn't a pseudo-BARC national race series got a meeting up there? Of have they abandoned the place since the noise abatement ruling leaving it to the DDMRC? |

I'd take Pembrey over Silverstone National anyday. Even though the last time I went to Pembrey I had to wait over an hour for a tractor to pull me out of the paddock.....the next motorhome is definitely going to be RWD!
And it's 600 miles for us.....I think RWD with a BIG engine. |

Well I live in Watford and its 200 miles each way so I dunno where you are coming from Rob. At the end of the day once you are on the road its another hour out of your life as oppossed to going to say Mallory Park. I actually like the point and squirt of Silverstone but I hate how unaccomadating they are to the club racer where as Pembrey look after us welll and will even throw on a bit of entertainment and also serve hot food in the bar in the evening compare that to Silverstone who wont let you go into the BRDC clubhouse and close the bar and restuarant at around 5. For a weekend event as is planned Pembrey in the middle of summer gets my vote I may even spend a couple of extra nights there and make a mini break of it if the weather is good. Also as owned by the BARC we get a good rate on the entry that helps on the petrol and may have another cut price 40 minute mini enduro which was great value.
I will also add its a very easy run not like going to Croft or Cadwell. |

This has given me an idea for another thread...so I'll go off and make that one up......but I'd quite like to race at Pembrey, even though for us it would be a 520 mile round trip - only been there pit-drewing for friends racing a Radical, and a couple of times using it as a stage on the Welsh Rally.....

Its not half bad Richard even in my heavyweights, you can hit top gear there are some challenging corners and there is plenty of run offs in most areas if you do overcook it. Oh and although it could do with a bit more Paddock tarmac the facilties are head and shoulders above Croft, Cadwell or Combe.

Croft is easy for me - straight up the A1. Cadwell, also easy too. I'm pretty well central here for most circuits, Snetterton about an hour, Brands about an hour and a half, Mallory about the same, Silverstone less than an hour, Rockingham the same. Castle Combe is two and half, same for Lydden. Oulton Park about the same. Croft about three hours, Anglesey three and a half to four. Pembrey is a good four and a half hours to five hours. Knockhill is only another half hour. I still prefer Silverstone to Pembrey. Then I'd rather go to Cadwell or Lydden. *ulitmately I'd rather run on the Rockingham oval!!* (but not in a pickup) |

I really wanted to do Pembrey and make a long weekend out of it. Just been informed that it is the mother-in-laws birthday party on that Saturday night. Any chance of moving the meeting to the previous or next week
