Enrico Zanarini (Eddie Irvine's Manager)

Interesting thing i have found out while going through a heap of old 'Austrlian Motor Racing & GT., 'Chequered Flag' and 'Racing Car News' magazines i have recently got my hands on.

Eddie Irvine's current manager Enrico Zanarini used to be PR Man for Alfa Romeo Australia, and was the man behind the old Alfasud series that used to run at Amaroo in 1983 & 1984, and backed Colin Bond's Network Alfa team from '84-'87. If that interests anyone

PS...Do we know who won the Alfasud series in 1984, Longhurst or Grice, last i heard it was still in the courts...

It was resolved in the late 90s... wish I could remember the outcome.

Wasn't the prize a car? So with depreciation, the winner recieved a $2000 trade in at the local car yard

I think part of the problem also was that Longhurst had sold the car soon after he had supposedly won it.

We know who won the Championship but we don't know why the loser was given the car.
Grice was given the prize (an Alfa) but did not win the championship.

Grice punted Longhurst off on the last corner and won the race and the championship and was given the prize, the stewards penalized Grice for punting Longhurst and took the win off him thus giving Longhurst the championship but he was never given the prize and has been trying to get his rightfully won car ever since.
