Well there's obviously something wrong with the new car - they wouldn't want to use the "old" car unless the new one wasn't up to scratch, would they?

Stranger, you've been listening to Ron too much...

If they havent got a race distance on the car yet then should they really risk it? Or are they gonna play a practical joke and take the F2002s just to make everyone look stupid?

I would love it if that happened, but I doubt it. Ferrari are in good shape though. They wouldnt bring the F2001 if they didnt think it would win. They also have much knowledge on how to make this car go fast.

I think it has something to do with the software that operates the two clutch gear box - Ferrari want to make sure that their software is perfectly legal so that they cannot be challenged after they win. Also, I would not be surprised if there were still improvements in the aerodynamics for the F2002. Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure - we can expect a car that will be at the front of the grid when it appears in Europe.

Ferrari are probably starting with the F2001 for partly all the reasons mentioned here...not to mention from Max and Bernie's POV; it would help liven up the championship if Michael and Ferrari have a bit of a deficit after the first few races.

All this stuff about leagality and trouble with the F2002 is silly. Ferrari are only taking the F2001 because their is a higher attricion rate in the early races and their F2001 car is already a great car (look at their season last year). The track suits the F2001 so it looks like a very good idea.

All of ferraris rival have their fingers crossed that they are quicker that the F2001 because if they can not match the F2001 haw in hell are they going to beat the F2002.

(sorry about the spelling but I am an australian)
